Swan Song and Walkin' the Dog

Hello Friends.

After Golden Boy's mischief of dragging up and tearing up the water buoy we continued our walk at The Pond.  I even did a little fishing.

I was fishing under these trees hanging over the water when I felt like I was being watched.

Oh my goodness, it's a Swan.

"OK, now what would ZIM do?"

Oh yea, don't look at them directly in the eye and do a mind meld with the feathered friend.

I had a hard time not watching the Swan.  But the mind meld worked GREAT!  In the meld I sang the Swan a song.  And it just kept swimming closer and closer.

When our song was done the Swan swam to the other side of the pond.  I was a little sad.

But then this little guy swam up close to me.  I guess he heard the song too.  Check out those crazy eyes.

Let me tell you that Miss Vickie heard from the people who own The Pond.  They said they wondered who would do such a thing to one of their buoys.  I am happy to say that all is forgiven and we can still go there.  Whewww.  But Golden Boy Bert did have to do a little work on our walk to make up for the whole Buoy fiasco.

He had to walk KC.  KC is Miss Vickie's mom's dog.

Bert could not run around like he normally does.  He had to walk the dog.  hahhaha.

Next thing I know Bert and KC pass me up.

Then Bert started going so fast that poor KC had to run to keep up with him.  "Hey Bert!  What's the hurry?  You do know that KC's legs are much shorter than yours don't you?"
It was then that I realized what Bert was doing.  He was headed for the water and dragging KC with him.

But not to worry, after Bert dipped his paws in the water he dragged KC back up the hill and KC was all smiles.  KC loves when Bert walks him.
"Bert you have just given me a GREAT idea.  We could start our own dog walking business   I mean who better to walk dogs  than DOGS!  It's brilliant.
Blessings,
Goose
Special note:  We might not be around much until Sunday or Monday.  My MOM has a lot a lot of work to get done.  She is going without food for 40 hours Friday through Saturday.  She is doing this with her kids.  They are raising awareness about hunger and they are also raising money to feed those who are hungry here and around the world.  The kids are also giving up all electronics for 40 hours.  You want to guess which is harder for those teenagers?  hahhaa  So MOM has a lot to get ready for and stuff to set up and stuffs like that.  And in case you are wondering, no I am not doing the 40 hours without food.  I might hang out with them for part of the time and eat a few Cheetos in front of them.  Hehehhe.

  3. Glad the owners were ok with the buoy incident and the Bert did community service to make up for the damage.

We are very proud of MOM and her kids. Hunger is a very serious problem in the country and around the world. I come from a very poor state and hunger is epidemic. Please spread the word and let people know that hunger is an problem that we can end if we all work together! You rock!

Your walk sounds great, and the swans around here a bit mean! You're lucky they're so nice where you live. Bert's penance cracked me up!

Golden Boy cracked us up looks like he got his wings clipped for the day. KC is pretty cute in fact your entire posse 2 and 4 leggers are pretty cute.

Good luck to your mom and the kids on their declaration for hunger. Tell them we will keep them in our prayers. Mom and I would do the electronics surrender.

  10. OMD! Bert is so cute walking KC. Those kids are probably going to have more trouble giving up the electronics than the food. Good luck to your mom and all the kids.

That is one glorious swan-shot with you in the foreground Goose! Well done to Bert for (ahem) mouthing his responsibilities too.

I have done three 40-hour famine events. In Sydney it is usually very cold so the camp out is fun with fires in barrels and lots of layers in the sleeping bags. The community feel is what keeps it all going. I agree - there are some of these young'uns who are hardwired to their phones and things, so you might end up doing some counselling Goose, old boy! Hope it all goes really well.
