Surprises

Hey All.

Funny thing about surprises, they come in all kinds of forms:  Happy, sad, exciting, troubling, wonder, and mystery.  On Thursday momma told me that I got a surprise in the mail, but I couldn't have it until Friday.  She wanted to save it for me after my doctor appointment on Friday morning.  Doctors appointment????  What?  Momma said not to worry I was just going in to get my snake shot.  SNAKE SHOT?!!!  And I am not to worry????  But momma said it would be OK, the snake shot was a good thing.  It helps if I get bit by a snake on our hikes.  It gives my momma more time to get me medical attention to help prevent sever damage or death.  OK,OK that is a good thing.  So I was a good boy and went to Dr. Eddie's.
There were many surprises in the above mentioned.  But they don't stop there.  I was at Bert's place and my appointment was at 9am.  Momma had a doctors appointment of her own that morning really early, she thought she would be done in plenty of time to take me to mine.  But as it turns out her appointment was WAAAAAY long.  So she called Bert's Vickie to see if she would take me.  She was happy to.  Turns out that there was more to my appointment than just getting a snake shot.  Momma also asked if Dr. Eddie would look at my left shoulder.  I have had a limp for a couple of weeks.  We all thought it was just a sore muscle from a hike where I totally went all out.  So after I got my snake shot, which I took like a big boy, it really was no big deal.  Then Dr. Eddie checked out my shoulder.  Turns out it maybe something more than a sore muscle.  It may be something called OCD.  No, not the OCD that people can have.  This OCD is Osteochondritis Dissecans, a disease of the cartilage.   We are not sure yet.  Next Friday Dr. Eddie will sedate me and take x-rays of my shoulder to find out for sure.  Momma and I are really hoping it is just a sore muscle.  But if it isn't and it is OCD then I have to go to Salt Lake City to a specialist to have surgery.  In the mean time Dr. Eddie said I have to take it easy.  That means, no hikes, no off leash walks, no jumping, no playing tug of war with Bert or my momma, no playing ball, no chasing around my yard, no playing with my toys, no NOTHING!  Just laying around.  When momma and I got home I asked for my surprise.  But momma said I could not have it because I had to take it easy.  WHAT?  She said it was my Bully Box.  Oh I love it when my Bully Box comes, it has super great treat and super fun toys!

Momma showed me my Box.  And I gave her the "Oh Please" let me see what's inside look.

So momma laid it all out for me.  Oh dog look at all this great stuff inside my box and I CAN'T have any of the super fun toys.

"PLEASE momma let me have just one thing, just one thing."  I went all out with my pleading eyes.  "Please momma, please."

She could not resist.  She said I could choose between the pork braided thing or the fake/real antler thingy.

Ewwwwww.  So hard to decide.  What I really wanted was that great rope tugging thing, but momma said that was not an option.  And no amount of sad Buddy eyes would change her mind.  She said it was for my own good.  I know she has to be tough, it's because she cares.

I chose the pork braided thingy.  Thank you momma for letting me have something from my surprise Bully Box.

So I guess I will be doing a lot of this for awhile, just taking it easy with my momma because of that darn left shoulder.

Blessings,
Buddy

Thankful Thursday

Hey All.

Momma received a very special gift in the mail.

A Bullseye Rescue t-shirt!!!  Oh was she excited.  It even says "Pit Crew" on the back.  Hahahhaha

See it was Bullseye who took me in and cared for me after Miss Lydia from See Beautiful found me on the streets of Atlanta.  Miss Lydia and all the folks of Bullseye loved me, took care of me, and loved me and loved me some more until that beautiful day when I adopted my momma.  I never heard of Utah but I knew that if that is where my momma lived then I would live there too.  Thank you Bullseye Rescue for giving me a chance to have my forever and ever home.  Momma and I love you.

Blessings,
Buddy

Buddy and the Three Goldens

Hey All.

Have you ever heard of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears"?  Well momma says it was like that this weekend, only it's "Buddy and the Three Goldens".  As you know my friend Belle stayed with me this weekend, she is a Golden.  And you ya all know Bert, he is a Golden.  Then there is Bert's new sister, Meagan, she is a Golden.  Then there is me, Buddy, not a Golden.

Momma and Miss Vickie took me and the Goldens to a new place to for a stroll.  It was really beautiful.  It's called South Ogden Nature Park.  As you might guess this place is liked by a lot of people.  With that in mind we did not have as much off lead time, but my momma took us down in to the trees and brush away from the walking path so we could romp and play in the stream and trees.  Here take a look.

We had a GREAT time, but I think momma's comparison to Goldilocks and the Three Bears is a bit off.  We are really like Charlie and his Angles, you know on account that we are very adventurous.  I know what you might be thinking, "where is Bosley"?

Here he is.  Wyatt was with us.  He is Miss Vickie's mom's dog.

You also might be thinking, "But the Angles were all woman and Bert in a dude."  That is true.  But as you know Bert is an actor.  Being that he is an actor on stage and screen I think he can pull off being Jill.  And as for Belle she is Sabrina and Megan is Kris.

And I am of course Charlie, looking after my girls and sending them on grand adventures.

Blessings,
Buddy

She's Here!!

Hey All.

Belle's here!!!!!

I just love her.

She got here at O-Dark-30 and wanted to play with me right away.

I know that when we play I need to go a little easy because she is a few years older than me (9 years older) so I lay down to play.

But she still has the moves, she really bowls me over.

As many of you know Belle is my Angel Brother Gooses gal pal.

They went on countless adventures together through all kinds of wilderness: hiking, camping, backpacking.  Today I am going to take her on a stroll to a new area I have never been before, creating our own adventure.

Don't worry brother Goose I will protect her and take care of her.  I know how much she meant to you and every time I'm with her I can see why you loved her so much.  Let the weekend begin!

Blessings,
Buddy

Working Breed

Hey All

Momma says if you play in it, zoom in it, lay in it, and poop in it, you have to help maintain it.

Good thing I have a inner working breed spirit in me.  I mean my ancestors use to pull carts on a farms.  Do ya all have chores you have to do?  If so what is your allowance?  I am not sure what I should ask for.  What seems fair for mowing a half acer of yard?

Blessings,
Buddy

New Sister

Hey All.

Guess who has a new sister?

This guy, my pal Bert.

Bert is very happy about his new sister.

And I get a new friend.

Megan and I love to play together.

We play chase.

"I'm going to get you Meggie."

And we play get the stick.

"Hahaha I got it.  Hehehe"

Oh and how we love to race around in the water and mud.  Ya gotta love a girl who is not afraid to get dirty.

Welcome beautiful Megan.

I know you came from a LOVING home and your mom loves you and always will and you will get to see her whenever you want.  But I know you are going to love living at Bert's place, which is your place now too.  And best part for me is I will get to see you almost everyday!

Blessings,
Buddy

Meeting Megan

Hey All

On Sunday Bert called me up and asked if I would like to meet his cousin, Megan.  Megan MIGHT become Bert's sister and be apart of his family.  I said "Oh yea, you know I want to meet her."  So we met up on The Hill above The Fort.  Megan is a white Golden and she is super fun and I welcomed her the best way I could.  Wanna see?

I had the bestest time with Megan.  And Bert was very grateful that I played with her so he could just do his own thing without a girly hanging all over him (the girls do that to him..... A LOT!).  I sure hope Megan gets to live with Bert and Miss Vickie.

Blessings,
Buddy

Sunday Funnies

Hey All.

"Hey Bert I heard a funny yesterday."
"Let's hear it Bud."
"OK.  A blind man walks in to a department store with his Golden seeing eye dog.  The store manager behind the customer service counter looks up, notices the customer is blind, and looks away again.  Out of the corner of his eye he sees the blind man start swinging the dog over his head. Shocked, the manager runs over and says, "Sir, is there a problem – is there something I can help you with?" The blind man calmly replies, "No thanks – I’m just looking around."
"Bawhahahahahhahhaha.  That's a good one Bud."

Blessings,
Buddy

ps- no dog was harmed in the telling of this joke.

Simple Things

Hey All.

It's simple things in life that make it so beautiful.  Like green grass and a ball with rope legs and arms.
