Buzzard Hat

Hello Friends.

Yesterday I told you about my search for my bones in the yard that was covered in snow.  And how my MOM wanted me to wear that Buzzard Hat to keep my head and ears warm.  Well here is the rest of the story.

"You want me to wear this buzzard hat, on my head, outside for all to see?"
"I think it would keep your ears warm."

"Buzzards are for eating, not wearing."

The Buzzard try to fly away.

Yummm, taste like chicken.

Picked clean.  Hehehhe

No, no I will not wear the buzzard hat.

Friends it is still snowing here in my corner of the world.

Come on outside with me and let me show you.

Welcome to my front yard.  The snow is up to my shoulder now.

Let me blaze a trail for my vertically challenged friends.

I think the town should hire me to clear paths.  I am getting pretty good at it.  MOM took a yard stick outside to measure, but we lost the yard stick.  hahaha  And Bert to answer your question yesterday, no.  No my underneath parts don't get cold.  OK maybe a little.  This is where I could have used the buzzard hat.  Bawhhaha

This is the fence between me and my neighbor.  I could just step over the fence now into his yard and play with his Dachshund, Ben.  I have not seen Ben since all this snow started a few days ago.  I hope he is safe and warm inside.

Welcome to my backyard.  Look ZIM I have started a fort.  How about you and Dave come on over.  I bet with your help we could make the coolest fort ever!

I showed you a photo like this yesterday.  I just wanted to show you that today the snow is now higher up on the house, it's almost up to the window.  Not sure where MOM will put the snow tomorrow.  I just might get that igloo house after all.

Special Note: If you don't hear from me for a few days don't worry. My MOM has to do a "Point in Time" count at the homeless shelter for the next couple of days.  It's a national thing, I am sure the shelters in your areas will be doing the same thing (in the States).  First day will be at the shelter and then the next day she will be roaming the city looking for homeless people who don't come to a shelter.  I think I get to come along with her, you know to keep her company and safe and maybe blaze a trail through the snow to find people.  Keep warm my friends.
Blessings,
Goose

On a Mission

Hello Friends.

Last night when MOM was shoveling all that snow from the sidewalks and drive way I brought out a bone.  You know, in case she got a little hungry while shoveling.  MOM said, "Goosie, you are going to lose your bone in the snow, better take it back in the house."  Phftttttt.  Lose it in the snow.  As if.  But I did get sidetracked and she was right I lost my bone.  Doh!  The next day I just had to find it.  I was a dog on a mission.

While I was outside trying to find my bone MOM asked if I wanted to wear my Buzzard hat to keep my ears and head warm.  If ya come back tomorrow I will show you my answer.  More snow on the way all the way through Thursday.  With all the snow MOM has to keep piling up, our house just may become and Igloo.  I have slept in a snow cave MOM built once when we were camping and it was pretty cool.  But this way I will have a comfy bed and heat.
Blessings,
Goose

More Snow

Hello Friends.

It happened again.  When MOM got home from church yesterday (she takes an hour and a half break before she has to go back for what I call round two).  Anyway, she had not been home more than a 15 minutes when I called her over to the window.

Hey MOM you better come take a look at this.

It's snowing like crazy.

So we went out back and sure enough.

It was snowing.  And the snowflakes were as big as half dollars, even bigger.

One of those BIG snowflakes landed right in my eye.  MOM laughed.  haha, yea that's funny.  By the time MOM left to go back to church, about a hour and a half later, it had snowed 6 inches.  By the time she got back home, 3 and 1/2 hours later, we had almost another 5 inches.  I know that some don't like snow and others complain about it, even where we live and we are expected to have snow here.  But you know what I say?  Even if you don't like the wet, cold, fluffy stuff, take a look at what it brings.

Beautiful Spring flowers.

Kicking back pool side at my gal pal Belle's house.

Lush blue fields to romp and play in.

High mountain lakes filled with water for swimming and fishing.

Grand backpacking and hiking trips along cool refreshing streams.

So while the snow may be a pain, where would we be without it's beautiful life giving moisture?
Blessings,
Goose

Slick as Bird ____

Hello Friends.

It is slick as bird poop.  What did you think I was going to say?  Hehehhe.  Good thing Pip and Puddles left when they did.  Our weather is CRAZY!  Let me show you what is going on.

This is the front of my Blazer.

This is the 1/2 inch thick ice on my back patio.

This is the cracks in the ice that I make when I walk across the patio and driveway, when I am not falling on my butt.

This is what happens when people drive on our icy roads.  Thank goodness Puddles has left the state.  I would not want to think what would have happened if her and PIP were still here on our roads.

With the crazy weather we are having and the crazy LOOOONG hours my MOM has been working at the church and the homeless shelter, I think it has made MOM go a little nuts.  Want to see what happened to me when she got home from work last night?  I hate to even show you.  But you are my friends and well the end of the story I got even.

She got me a new hat to keep my head warm out in the snow and ice.  I HAVE A BUZZARD ON MY HEAD!  A bird ON MY HEAD!!  Want to see what I think about that?

It's Buzzard season at the Goose household.

Take that crazy bird buzzard hat.

Ha ha.  Looks like it will be roasted buzzard for dinner.

Pfttthhhhh!  Raspberries to you MOM.  Yes I ripped his wing off.  I'm going for the drumstick next if you make me wear this again.  I do have my dignity.  I must admit I did rock the bird hat.  But MOM please get some sleep and maybe the craziness will stop and innocent birds will be spared.  And finally a Public Service Announcement  for all my doggie friends.

Blessings,
Goose

PIP's World Bucket Tour

Hello Friends!

Well I am very excited to show you the latest leg of Pip's World Bucket Tour.

Pip is not feeling so well and he is an older guy.  But rather that just sit around Pip, with his nurse Puddles is going on a word, blog tour. Places he has always wanted to see.  So today he has stopped by my neck of the woods and I could not be more honored.  You can click on the photos to make them bigger to really experience the tour in your face.

Pip arrived in Puddles fashion.  Even though I had MOM clear the drive way of the snow, Puddles managed to end up in a snow bank.

While Puddles and I dug the World Tour car out of the snow bank my MOM took Pip to the hospital to do rounds with my buddy Bert and his Vickie.  Pip brought much joy and comfort to many at the hospital, both patients and staff.  Everyone loved Mr. Pip.

Next stop, me and MOM's church.  I think Bert was a little embarrassed  that that Pip and Puddles would actually sit on the altar.  I said, "At least they are not swinging from the chandlers."

I spoke to soon.  Bawhahhahaa

I know I could have taken Pip to see the capital and famous land marks here in Utah.  But to be honest I wanted to show Mr. Pip my world here.  And that really does not include capitals and the tabernacle choir, as great as they are.  So our next stops were places I love to go, the Fort and the Pond.

We hooked up with a few of my friends.  Puddles had a few to many "beverages" and just could not stay on the log.  She kept falling off.  But Pip was a pro and rode the log like a snowboard.

Bert gave Pip a ride he would never forget.  I think he might have a future in being a jockey.

Of course Puddles wanted to give it a try.  Bert said she was all mine. hehehhe

We stopped on the bride that crosses the river.  I was pointing out some ducks swimming when all of the sudden Pip took a header off the bridge!!!  My heart stopped.

But never fear, Bert of course was down below in the water and caught Pip.

I thought I'd show Pip and Puddles how to catch fish.  Just so happens that Pip brought his fishing hat and who knew Puddles owned a fishing vest.

But then again Puddles fell down, AGAIN.  Good thing my buddy Bert taught me how to swim.  I jumped right in without a second thought.  I mean Pip cannot lose his nurse and driver.

By now we all were getting pretty hungry.  Good thing lunch was roaming around.  Puddles got to deaded herself a buffalo.  More on that later.

We tried once again to sit on a tree.  And friends miracles do happen.  Puddles actually stayed on the tree.   (We ran out of beer so she was sobering up).

We romped up and down snow covered hills.

While MOM was cooking up her world famous Buffalo Burgers from the deaded buffalo Puddles caught, we hung out in the back yard and had some beer and appetizers.  And you see that beer there chillin' in the snow?  My MOM has had that beer for over 20 years.  But because this was a very special occasion she let me break it out and share it with my friends.

This is my MOM's famous Buffalo Cheese burger.  We each had three.  Oh yum yum!

After dinner we had some bubble fun.  Pip was a pro.  He was flying through the air, chasing bubbles and laughing.  He has the best laugh.

Then we settled in and played poker with some of my neighborhood friends all night long.

Mr. Pip thank you for coming by my place on your tour.  I hope you had a good time and were able to cross a few things off your bucket list.  You make me see beautiful.  You make me laugh.  You can really hold your beer for a little guy.  You are simply are the best Mr. Pip.  And I am honored to be your friend.

Blessings,
Goose
