The Aftermath of Bert

Hello Friends.

As some of you know my buddy Bert got to spend a few days with me while his Vickie was in Alaska.  She is home now and Bert is with her and he is one happy Golden Boy.  So what is life like in the aftermath of Bert?  Well let me show you.

This here is my toy basket in our home office.  A note of interest:  see that blue and white ball by Mr. Croak?  That was my first ever toy my MOM got me.  It is 13 years old.  Yea it has a lot of tooth marks on it, but it is still going strong.

"MOM where are all my toys?"

Here they are, scattered in the living room as well as in the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen.

You might be wondering how this happened.  Well friends, Bert went a little nuts on my toys.  He drug out just about every single one!  He would chomp and play with one, then go get another.

If you think this looks bad you should see all the balls and Frisbee's in the back yard.  You might be wondering, "Goose where is Billy your beloved Moose?"

Here he is.  As soon as I saw that Golden Boy was determined to "play" with all my toys, I put Billy in a safe place and hired Jeremiah and Sneaky Snake to guard him.

"All is well Billy, I won't let Bert drag you out to parts of the yard unknown."

All is well now.  Everybody is back in the toy basket safe and sound.  One thing you can say about my buddy Bert, he sure knows how to put his whole heart into whatever he is doing.  Doesn't matter if it is Therapy, Search and Rescue, Swimming or Playing with Toys, he gives it his all.

Don't let this face fool you.  If Bert comes to your house and you don't want your toys scattered about everywhere, hide them and lock them away.  As for me, I don't mind as long as he had a good time and it took his mind off missing his Vickie.
Blessings,
Goose

  1. My Dearest Goose,
I just want you to know how very glad I am that you and your Michelle took such good care of my "Golden Boy" while I was away. It put my mind at ease knowing that he was in your loving care. I am glad to see that all your toys have made it thru Hurrican Bert. So glad they are all stillin one piece and not torn to shreds and sitting in my boys tummy. You are the best "Bert Sitters" I could ever ask for.

  17. Now WE look at that as PROOF that you and Bert had a GRRRRREAT time together...... BUTT it WAS very much WISE of you to put a few Special Furends... into a Safe Place... Just in case.. if you get my drift.

  18. That was a very smart move putting Moose away, Goose. Mom does that here with some special little stuffies that Thunder likes to carry in his mouth. But two other SomePups would destroy them in no time. Mom says a room scattered with toys is a sign of very fun playdates")

    Have a great week.

  33. Hehehe, well at least Bert didn't completely destroy your toys Goose...it might have ended differently if I had stopped over! ;-) Glad that all is right again and that you two had a fab time hanging out!!

  34. Looks like Bert sure had a good time with your toys. I am glad Sneaky Snake is safe. Wouldn't want him to have to have a hospital repair again. :)

  35. My crew is jealous of all those toys. Bert sure must have had a great time playing with all of them.

  36. Maybe you and Bert need to come visit Ellie and Lucy. They have TONS of toys and play with two tugs and the tennis balls. The rest rarely leave the basket. Of course it makes cleanup easier.

I'm glad you and Bert had so much fun! And good thinking to keep Billy safe :)

  40. OMG, seeing your toys scattered everywhere had my mommy in stitches! she says scattered toys = happy doggies and that's what's important. smart thinking to have billy be a spectator instead of a participant.

  44. Awww Goose, you are wonderful to let Bert stay at your place and play with all your toys (well nearly all hehe). You are a grreat friend. Mum is green with jelly cause sadly we wreck every single toy she gets us by playing tug o war. We say she needs to go Op shopping again and stock up on them! Hope your week is a good one mate. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

  45. Goose you are fabulous as is Bert! Thanks for sharing :)!

  46. Sounds like we need to teach Bert how to put toys away!

I used to have a pup that would "reorganize" her toy box...taking out toys and putting them back in a certain order. Mind you, she would NOT pick up toys after playing with them! But she would reorganize the box when I picked them up!

  47. We had to laugh, because we also keep our toys neatly stored in our toy box...but we remember our lost friend, Chloe the golden girl, and how she too loved toys!
