Slick as Bird ____

Hello Friends.

It is slick as bird poop.  What did you think I was going to say?  Hehehhe.  Good thing Pip and Puddles left when they did.  Our weather is CRAZY!  Let me show you what is going on.

This is the front of my Blazer.

This is the 1/2 inch thick ice on my back patio.

This is the cracks in the ice that I make when I walk across the patio and driveway, when I am not falling on my butt.

This is what happens when people drive on our icy roads.  Thank goodness Puddles has left the state.  I would not want to think what would have happened if her and PIP were still here on our roads.

With the crazy weather we are having and the crazy LOOOONG hours my MOM has been working at the church and the homeless shelter, I think it has made MOM go a little nuts.  Want to see what happened to me when she got home from work last night?  I hate to even show you.  But you are my friends and well the end of the story I got even.

She got me a new hat to keep my head warm out in the snow and ice.  I HAVE A BUZZARD ON MY HEAD!  A bird ON MY HEAD!!  Want to see what I think about that?

It's Buzzard season at the Goose household.

Take that crazy bird buzzard hat.

Ha ha.  Looks like it will be roasted buzzard for dinner.

Pfttthhhhh!  Raspberries to you MOM.  Yes I ripped his wing off.  I'm going for the drumstick next if you make me wear this again.  I do have my dignity.  I must admit I did rock the bird hat.  But MOM please get some sleep and maybe the craziness will stop and innocent birds will be spared.  And finally a Public Service Announcement  for all my doggie friends.

Blessings,
Goose

  8. Dead the buzzard Goose. I will come and help you with the other leg pal. Too right , it is a good thing Puddles was not driving and had already left. We hate to think where the car would end up. Hmmm maybe it would have skidded into a bar? Puddles would just call it a 'Drive Through'! Have a fabulous Friday.
    Best wishes Molly

  11. Goose, you always know how to make us laugh! We actually LOVE the buzzard hat on you. You wear it so well. Now that you've torn one wing off if you wear the hat you're gonna walk lop-sided.

Sorry to see you're having such nasty weather. At least you still have power and heat. That's always a good thing! We're hoping that Spring arrives sooner than later. We always love to hear about your outdoor adventures.

Please give your Mom a hug from Muffin and Me. She does such wonderful things for the people in this world and just want her to know we appreciate it!

    Hugs,
    Lily Belle

  22. Yep we have that ice at our house too, butt we did not get the fureezing rain like some, it is just the snow melting then fureezing again. Mom almost fell on her butt this morning and Hazel was a little afraid to walk on it.
Don't think we would like a buzzard on our heads either.

  23. Doesn't look like a hat one would wear in public, let alone in the house with a Krazy Lady with a camera.

  24. OMD, I don't blame you for destroying that hat. It is CLEARLY not meant to be worn by handsome doggies. It should be worn only by doggies who need something to distract from how they look.

  25. OH GOOSE... while we think SNOW is Evil.... ICE terrifies US. YOU and your MOM be VERY much CAREFUL.

    Love the last pic.

OMD OMD... we didn't know it was BUZZARD Season.. good thingy he didn't Poop on your head. Ohhhhh does it taste like CHICKEN?

  26. oh goose, you quack me up. (do buzzards quack?) thanks for ending your post on a happy note. the first part made me scared. be careful over there.
your poor MOM; don't blame her for the buzzard hat. i'm sure she's quite stressed driving in those conditions. you are her stress reliever. just grin and bear it :)

  27. Oh Goose! That's Curl up and stay under the blankies weather! I think you might want to rethink that hat! Your ears will FREEZE!

  28. Goose, great job destroying that bird on your head. Too funny. It does look as though the Mom is working a little too hard but you are such a good boy to make her smile. We are having a little ice here too but not as much as you have. That doesn't look like fun at all. Take care.

  29. OMD! I've never seen such ice in my life! (okay, not since I left Wisconsin, when I was a pup) I hopes your Moms is okay from all the fallin' on her hinnie! (my Ma would be okay...she's gots LOTS of padding!! BOL)
I really can't blame you for rippin' the wing off the buzzard Goose. I thinks the bird asked for it.
BOL That last pic is HILLARIOUS! Ma snorted tea out her nose!!

  31. Ice is the WORST!!! The WORST!!! Stay safe, Goose!
Excellent job on the buzzard hat. My sister Stormy taught me long, long ago - if Mom tries to make you wear something you don't want to wear -- eat it or rip it up. She was one very sage Siberian.
Having said that, my mom thought you looked really cute in it. I seriously hope this doesn't give her any bright ideas.

  32. Yes, we're going crazy too. Butt mom is better since she went running 2 days but not today since everything is so icy. Did you see the recipe I posted for dog-safe ice melt on Facebook? You should try it, it works great!

  34. Goose, you are right, your MOM needs rest! You should just grab Billy and snuggle up with her. And be real careful on that ice.

Oh, and that last picture: Once again Goose, you have me laughing out loud!!

  35. Ha ha ha, love the hat and the last message! You sure got ice and snow...may as well move to Alaska!

  36. Hey Goose, All I can say is that you two need to stay inside where it is warm until all the ice leaves. Hunter loves to play with ice cubes but your stuff looks really dangerous. I don't blame you about the hat buddy-it isn't as dashing as you! Hope mom gets some rest this weekend.

  38. We love the public service announcement! It made us laugh. Love the hat. We are lucky that while it is cold, cause we are in the country we don't have to deal with salt or ice. Hope your paws are in good shape. Lee and Phod

    But yous guys....WOW!!!
That is probably why your Mom is so crazy busy! Peoples and their doggies need shelter when it is that cold.
Wes LOVED your buzzard hat! Me thinks yous was a little rough on the poor old bird though.
Kisses (and stays warm and don'ts fall and breaks something like Mommy did before Christmas)
