MOM, Wolves, and Beautiful

Hello Friends.

Yesterday when my MOM picked me up from Bert's she just had to go and play with the wolves.  Take a look.

There's my MOM with one of the wolves.  She's a beauty isn't she.

This guys name is Kaos.  I will admit I was a little afraid for my MOM here.  I was on the other side of the fence.  I'm not allowed in with the wolves, none of us doggies are.

But he really is a sweetie.

He just wanted to give my MOM some kisses.

Kaos then gets a real good belly rub.  He likes my MOM a lot.

My MOM would like to say that she does not believe that wolves should be pets.  They are wild animals after all.  But since wolves are my MOM's favorite animal (next to me of course) given this opportunity the last two weeks she just can't pass up petting them and rubbing their bellies.

Now for something very important.  Something that is VERY close to our hearts.  You may know that my MOM serves on the board of St. Anne's Homeless Center and she volunteers there a lot too.  You may also know that we are in the middle of building a new facility that will be called Lantern House.  Well for the month of December  St. Anne's/Lantern House PET AREA is the non-profit of the month at SEE BEAUTIFUL.  We are so humbled and honored.  Please Please visit SEE BEAUTIFUL NON-PROFIT of the MONTH to read all about it AND what you can do to help.  In addition to what you will read there, you can also during the month of December, send a photo of how you see beautiful to  For every photo they receive they will donate $1 up to $1000!  How cool is that?  WAY cool, that's how cool.  All monies raised from the sent in photos and 20% of the sales (not proceeds but the WHOLE sale) of the few products See Beautiful offers will all go to the PET AREA that is being built at the shelter!!
You all have seen me wearing my See Beautiful dog tag and my MOM wears a See Beautiful bracelet and necklace that she just loves.  I know that this is a little long, but it is so important to me and MOM for this PET AREA to be built so that when someone or a family becomes homeless they are able to keep the whole family together at the shelter including the families pets.

And now for the card count.

  4. Pawsome post! The wolf is so gorgeous and the card count is cracking us up. MOL! Happy Saturday, furriends. xoxo

  5. So interesting. My daughter is at Purdue University and very close to Purdue is a place called Wolf Park. They do a great job at educating the public about wolves. I think the pet area at St. Anne's is such a wonderful idea.

  6. They really are beautiful. I think I may have mentioned that the doctor that I worked for in Alaska had a wolf-hybrid named Bristol. She made me nervous and she knew it. So I stayed on the other side of the fence too when I would visit.

  7. Goose you are looking very beautiful. We wish you luck with the project and we hope it is completed soon. Have a super Saturday.
    Best wishes Molly

  8. How lovely was that for your Mom :) BOL the card situation :) xx00xx

    Mollie and Alfie

  9. I didn't know about the Wolves, I must have missed something. How fantastic! Lantern House sounds like a great project. Mum used to run a project to help women fleeing domestic violence find and fund accommodation for their pets, so she knows how valuable the work is. we've sent a photo into see beautiful. Deccy x

  10. We agree with your Mom about the beautiful wolves. But take one look at that picture of your Mom getting kisses, well, it just tickled our toes and warmed our hearts!

We will hop on over to See Beautiful shortly.

Love that picture of you Goose!!

  11. Hey Goose!
Wow, those wolves are amazing and so very gorgeous! Can't blame your Mom for liking them. What a great project to help keep packs together during bad times. Your wreath pix is very cute, Goose! That's a great one for a card! My peeps finally got their first and only card yesterday! BOL

    Sarge, COP

  12. WHAT???? Your mom actually got a Card???? Our mom and dad are still at ZERO.. Ernie and I have over 20.

I agree with your mom about the wolves. I know that MY mom and Dad would NOT miss a chance to touch a Wild One either. They ARE beautiful.

There used to be 3 of them not far from Our Hill... we could often hear them wooing. BUTT they were kept in a very small pen. It made mom VERY MUCH SAD.

  13. We were lucky enough to live next door to a few folks who rescued wolf and wolf-hybrids. They were beautiful and I learned a lot from them, like they make TERRIBLE pets. I still loved going over there and playing with them though.

  14. Goose, we already got a photo to add from Declan! It's beautiful and captures beautiful perfectly. Thank you for all the beautiful you are creating for pets and their people through the Pet Area at the Lantern House, it is our honor to raise more awareness of this loving work that's happening there! SO HONORED!

  15. Oh Goose! Your mom got wolf kisses! That's a once in a lifetime thing! We will for sure check out the See Beautiful site! We love the idea of the pet area at the Lantern House! Happy Weekend!!

    The Girlz

  18. You are a handsome dog Goose and it is hard for me to come now and see you b/c when I do I cry over your look b/c of losing Zoie like I did. Logic tells me I couldn't have stopped her from jumping over the fence but I still feel so guilty for not going out with her at 3:30 am that morning b/c if I had she would have not jumped the fence or if she did she would have come right back so I am to blame and it hurts so sososososo bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I keep telling myself that God wanted her....

  19. Kaos is a very cool guy - and my staff sings the "AWWWWW-song" 29:1 ... not bad hahaha

  20. Wow, wolves are a little scary, but Kaos looks nice. I've gotten lots of cards, but my peeps still don't have any!

    Nubbin wiggles,

  21. I see a lot of beautiful in this POST, Goose! I love the wolves - we feel a certain kinship to them, you know. Our mom would love to sit with them and just "be".
And look at YOU! We love the picture of you with your wreath!
And WOW! How cool is it that the See Beautiful peeps are featuring / supporting the Lantern House dog area this month!!!???!!! Very cool. And very beautiful. I think I might need to order our mom a necklace or something.
Great post, buddy. Have an incredible weekend!
    Play bows,

  22. What a beautiful post! I agree with your Momma about the wolves but boy that Kaos sure does look like he likes your Momma! How wonderful about the See Beautiful, we are heading over there now. :)

  31. Oh Wow! That is so cool. when Mommy was growing up she worked on a ranch in the summer and 2 of the farm dogs was 1/2 wolf! Their Mom (who was a wolf) lived on the next ranch and she was a great animal (a little high strung though)
PS Thanks so much for your continued Purrayers for Bob. Me kept a eye on her all day and she was a little better when Mommy and Daddy gots home.

  32. That one photo was kinda scary (where the wolf was showing his teeth right next to your mom's face). She sure is brave!

    Benny & Lily

  34. I think Kaos was tasting you, MOM!!! Seriously though the wolves are gorgeous & so majestic. I would have done the same thing.

Congrats on the non- profit of the month award. That is such a good thing for families in need.

  35. Goose,
First - I just LUV the photo of you in the wreath with all the poinsettias in the background - such a big smiley you have! :D

You Mom with the wolves was something! I saw she was sitting down - probably thinking warm fuzzy thoughts - letting the wolves come to her as they wished. Your Mom knows animals Goose - I probably would get in her lap and stay there until you insisted I vacate it BOL!

Now on your Non-Profit of the Month at See Beautiful - Fantastic! Congrats to you and your Mom! I WILL do something to support it. Pawmise :)

    Waggin at ya,

  36. I love the wolves too. I'm happy for your MOM getting to be close to them, but I have to agree with her about them being wild animals who shouldn't be pets.

I love the story about See Beautiful! I'll send in a photo!!!

When you have a moment (no rush), could you email me the address for donations to help with building the shelter? I'd like to send you one, in memory of my sweet girl K. I've been waiting for the perfect idea for a donation in her memory, and this seems like it!

  37. The wolves sure are beautiful! It is very nice of See Beautiful to make a donation.

  38. Wow, those wolves are really cool, Goose! I would have been nervous for my mom too though! These must be some very special wolves :)
