A Sticky Situation

Today MOM broke away from all her work and from the endless studying.  She has so much "school" work to do.  As I have said before even though she is a pastor she has to continue her education and there is a tremendous amount of studying to do.  But for a little while today she broke away and took me to the Fort.  We met Bert and his Vickie there.  We had heard that the Fish and Game was taking over the Fort area and they were draining the pond and cleaning it out and stuff like that.  Then they will let the river fill it back up and they will stock it with fish.

We saw a snake along the way

We played in the river

I looked for sticks along the bank

This is the big pond they are cleaning out.  Can you see the big yellow machines digging the muck out at the back?

They are dumping all that sticky muck back in the woods.  MOM thinks it looks like a lava flow.

See those dark marks in the muck?  Well friends that is where I got stuck up to my belly and could not get out.  It was like quick sand and very sticky.  Inside MOM was freaking.  On the outside she was very calm and rushed to me.  But she could not step into get me because she would have been stuck also.  As she was beginning to look for sticks and branches to lay across the muck so she could crawl out to me I mustered all the strength I had to get out.  I mean I could not have my MOM getting stuck just to get me.  I made it out and was OK.  Funny part of this story is Miss Vickie asked if MOM got a picture of me stuck in the muck.  It wasn't funny to MOM at the time.  But her and Miss Vickie laugh about it now.  I sort of wish now I had a picture to show you.

When it was all over and MOM's heart began to beat normal she wrote this in the muck, "SEE BEAUTIFUL".  Why you ask.  Well even though this was scary for MOM (and me), and to most, the muck is ugly.  To MOM the muck and the experience just showed her once again the beauty of our relationship.

Hey MOM I'm A OK.  Can we go play some more?

MOM thought a trip to the river bank would be a good idea.  Not sure why.

But first I stopped for some salad lunch

Bert and I had a good tug of war with a stick

After we were all wet Bert found some grass clippings along the trail to roll in.  You know what that means...

Back to the river

How cool is this picture? You can see Bert's face UNDER the water!

And no adventure is complete without me finding a nice stick.  "I claim this stick in the name of Goose."

Then we each went home.  Later in the day my gal pal Belle came over with her MOM and Jenni came too.  While the lady's had a lovely salad dinner Belle and I played.  But then something happened.  Sneaky Snake sneaked up on Belle and it scared her and this happened...

She ripped most of his face off!  Poor Sneaky.  MOM says it might require surgery.

Wednesday is getting closer.  I tried to get Bert to tell me what we are doing but he was very hush hush about it.  So let me tell you a little secret about Bert.  MAY 15TH is his 4th Birthday.  How about you go over and wish him a happy one.  Just click HERE.
Blessings,
Goose

  6. We are glad MOM took a break from all of her demands and made time for some adventure...maybe a little TOO much with the getting stuck part... but still, being together and having best friends along had to be pretty special. Sorry about Sneaky, MOMs do wonderful things with stuffie surgery...don't worry.

  21. Oh, Goose, we LOVED seeing See Beautiful in the mud! You're exactly right, some might dismiss it as ugly or "in the way" but you and MOM used the opportunity to stop and give thanks for the amazing relationship and love you two have for each other. I think that's brilliant.

I'm so sorry about sneaky snake. Maybe he's just shedding his skin?

Can't wait to see what you're surprise brings! Heading to wish Bert a happy birthday!

    Happy seeing beautiful!
