Belle and Other Wild Things

I am so excited.  My gal pal Belle is staying with me and MOM until June 2nd.  Belle has been my friend for years.  We have had some might fine and beautiful adventures together.  Whenever her family has to go out of town and she can't go she gets to come and stay with me.  I like her a lot!  How much?  Well...

I like her so much I let her lay on the couch in my spot next to my MOM.  I have only let her do that.  It's a special treat for her because she is not allowed on the couch at her house (Don't worry her mom says it's OK she does it at our house).
We had such a fun first day together.  I took her to Bert's place and she got to meet so many of my friends.  Everyone liked her.  I don't have pictures of that because my MOM and Miss Vickie took their cameras to Bert's special mountain place to look for moose.  Here is what they found.

Some cute deer

More cute deer

MOM found another fishing pond

And they found FIVE moose.

This guy is HUGE.  I think MOM got to close.

I hope my MOM used her Moose Manners

How cool is this spider house?  I hope those caterpillars will become butterflies and not lunch.

This is where MOM and Miss Vickie were, "Bert's Special Mountain Place"

MOM said we will get to go next time.  I know Belle will love it there.  She is a very experienced mountain and hiking dog.  And she told me she knows all about moose manners.  So we will go there next week.   I'm OK with MOM going without us.  We had so much fun at Bert's Place.  And when we got home we were, as they say, dog tired.

"MOM you can have the couch.  Please turn out the light on your way out.  Goodnight"
Blessings,
Gooseberrry

  14. Hi Gooseberry, You and Belle sure look like you enjoy each others company. Do you know Big Honey Dog from Australia? She did a post and near the end she has an encounter with the HUGEST stick I have ever seen a dog play with and it made me think of you. She even has a video of her playing with the stick. You should check it out: http://bighoneydog.com/2012/05/kirribilli/ . That Honey is your kind of gal. No offence to the beautiful Belle of course.

  20. It's always so much fun to have company isn't it? What a great host you are Goose!!

Your pictures remind me so much of Alaska with the moose!! What a fun way to spend a day!

(By the way, those are 'tent caterpillars' that will turn into moths around July. We have them here and while they're great food for birds, they can really do a lot of damage to trees because they'll eat the leaves and the nests suffocate the trees, so we always get rid of them...)

  29. The next time I read a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, I know it was my choice to read, but I actually thought you have something interesting to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could fix if you werent too busy looking for attention.
