My Thursday Day

Hello Friends.

Today I would like to share with you how my Thursday went.  First MOM and I got up at 4:30 in the morning.  As you may already know, MOM and I spend part of our morning together on the patio greeting the day with a cup of coffee (for MOM) some strawberries for me.  We do a devotional together and then reflect.  We went outside

To this.

"MOM I think we should do our thing inside today."

Then it was off to MOM's office before I had to be at the vets.  MOM has these two boxes in her office.  Want to see what we put in them?

Candy!  The city our church is in has one of those Trick or Trunk things for kids on Halloween as a safe alternative to door to door stuff, and they asked my MOM if she could help.  So MOM went to talk to a candy company to see if they would give her a donation.  She was already going to talk to them about a donation for St. Anne's Homeless Center.  And holy dog did she get load of candy.  What you see in the photo above is just for the Trick or Trunk, about 80lbs worth.  She got an equal amount for St. Anne's.  Thank you candy company you are very generous.
Then it was time to go to the vet.

Remember this.  I got an owie while in the mountains with my MOM on October 10th.  Dr. Eddie stapled my leg back up to heal.

Here is my owie now.  Not bad huh?  I'll have a little scar, but as MOM's good friend once told her "Scars are beautiful."  I think she is right.

Then I went to daycare at Bert's place.  Before MOM lets me in with Bert we all have a song together.

It kept snowing off and on all day.  But in the late afternoon MOM came to pick me up from Bert's and she brought a friend.

This is Monster Max.  Him and MOM are going to do something for the kids at church on Sunday so they thought they would practice their routine on us.

Max loves petting Bert, even if he is wet from the snow.  I kept saying, "Me next, me next.  I want to be petted too."

And this is a new girl at daycare, she likes Max too.

Bert even let Max play with his ball.

Goosie kisses for Max.
Then it was time to head home.  MOM had a ton of work to still do.

So while MOM read and wrote and other kinds of work stuff I kept her warm and comfortable.  All and all it was a pretty good day.  Any day that ends and begins with my MOM is always good.

Blessings,
Goose

  8. Oh...snow. It's beautiful, but I'm not ready for it! We should still have several more weeks without and that's okay for me. I'm glad your ouchie healed so well, Goose. It looks "tough." A good look for a man dog. I laughed and laughed at you guys with the puppet. I didn't know that pups like puppets so much. You are a good audience for your mom.

  9. The snow is very pretty but we agree that an early morning devotional in THAT would be hard to stay focused on. Your day sounds blissfully wonderful, Goose!

    P.S - I love your snow!!! I just can't wait for ours!

  15. Ah Goose, you always know how to warm our hearts. We'd like to say WOW and a BIG thank you to that candy company. That was really nice of them to be helping out.

Snow already, really! We had a funny day yesterday. It was 81 degrees!! Can't hardly believe it ourselves. Usually its snowing like crazy this time of year. Today it's supposed to be 75. We are not complaining. I know that you will miss sitting outside in the wee morning hours with your Mom as that is really special time for you both. But you are right.... Any time with Mom is very special.

LOve Max and look forward to hearing more about his story with the children.

  30. That looks like the PERFECT day to me, Goose! I don't get why you and your MOM wouldn't want to do coffee out on the patio, though! My mom's like that, too. We have deck time when it's in the 70s and stuff, but toss in some snow and 20 degree temps, and she's all like "Inside, boys!" I don't quite get it. Not that we have snow yet, but the temps are dropping!
Your scar looks totally cool - and it looks like the healing went really well! We're so thankful for that.
    Luv,
    Dave

  32. OMDs Goose your morning ritual had to be altered for sure. Even delish strawberries and warm coffee can't keep you warm enough to stay outside. Yay for healing injuries. Oh and Goose FYI Ladies like manly men with scars.
We do the Trick or Trunk thingy too. well not me but the munchkins.
For the last 2 years we have not had one kiddie go ding a ling at our door.

  41. Boy, that is a lot of candy and a whole lot of kids will be really, really happy. Snow!!! You look really cool in those snazzy scarves and hats. Glad you and your mom are all well again.

  42. I usually start my day on the deck with coffee too. But, I guess that season is over!!!!

That is a boatload of candy. I'm coming trick or treating at your place!!!

I'm glad that your owie is better, Goose. When Shyla arrived, she had bite marks all over her face from a big dog playing too hard with her (so I was told). The vet told me to massage the marks every day - and I did. Guess what! No scars!!!!!

You asked about camoflouging trail cams. It's very tough to do well. But, I've made an art of it in places where people tend to walk past my cameras. It's mainly a matter of choosing very discrete spots to put the cameras so that they have a view of the trail but the people don't notice the cameras. But, the one that was found the other day was in an area that no one has ever visited in all the years that I've had this hobby. So, I left it in an obvious place. No one has emailed me about it so I guess that I lost that great spot. Oh well. At least I didn't lose the camera.

  43. Wow! Yous guys get up even earlier than my Mommy and the hairy slobbery sisters and Kozmo does (Me likes to sleeps in). Mommy meditates. When me has seen her do it, me thought she was sleeping sitting at the table!
We does not has snow, but it is chilly and damp here. Me is feeling my age (so is Bob) and we is moving slower.

  44. Hi Y'all!

Goose, God Bless you and your Mom for all the sweet and wonderful things y'all are doing.

About the snow...I don't really like snow and my Human is afraid of it. Sitting inside and in front of the fireplace, she thinks it is pretty. If she has to go outside, she is terrified.

    Y'all come by now,
