My Thursday Day

Hello Friends.

Today I would like to share with you how my Thursday went.  First MOM and I got up at 4:30 in the morning.  As you may already know, MOM and I spend part of our morning together on the patio greeting the day with a cup of coffee (for MOM) some strawberries for me.  We do a devotional together and then reflect.  We went outside

To this.

"MOM I think we should do our thing inside today."

Then it was off to MOM's office before I had to be at the vets.  MOM has these two boxes in her office.  Want to see what we put in them?

Candy!  The city our church is in has one of those Trick or Trunk things for kids on Halloween as a safe alternative to door to door stuff, and they asked my MOM if she could help.  So MOM went to talk to a candy company to see if they would give her a donation.  She was already going to talk to them about a donation for St. Anne's Homeless Center.  And holy dog did she get load of candy.  What you see in the photo above is just for the Trick or Trunk, about 80lbs worth.  She got an equal amount for St. Anne's.  Thank you candy company you are very generous.
Then it was time to go to the vet.

Remember this.  I got an owie while in the mountains with my MOM on October 10th.  Dr. Eddie stapled my leg back up to heal.

Here is my owie now.  Not bad huh?  I'll have a little scar, but as MOM's good friend once told her "Scars are beautiful."  I think she is right.

Then I went to daycare at Bert's place.  Before MOM lets me in with Bert we all have a song together.

It kept snowing off and on all day.  But in the late afternoon MOM came to pick me up from Bert's and she brought a friend.

This is Monster Max.  Him and MOM are going to do something for the kids at church on Sunday so they thought they would practice their routine on us.

Max loves petting Bert, even if he is wet from the snow.  I kept saying, "Me next, me next.  I want to be petted too."

And this is a new girl at daycare, she likes Max too.

Bert even let Max play with his ball.

Goosie kisses for Max.
Then it was time to head home.  MOM had a ton of work to still do.

So while MOM read and wrote and other kinds of work stuff I kept her warm and comfortable.  All and all it was a pretty good day.  Any day that ends and begins with my MOM is always good.

  1. Yikes! Snow? Looks cold!

That sure is a lot of candy - the candy companies where super generous!

  2. Oh, Goose, such beautiful white stuffs!!
Your booboo looks LOTS better!! Your Moms is right, scars are beautiful.
Your Moms ROCKS!! Looks at all that candy! The kids are gonna have a great time!
Have a great day Goose (and Moms!)

  3. Yeah, congratulations Goose! That scar's going to be tiny in a few weeks...and you're definitely right, scars are beautiful! :-) Whoa, now that's a candy stash!! That was really generous of them to donate so many nummies! Your kids are going to be giddy and hyper! ;-) Have a wonderful time snuggling with your Mom!!!

  4. I think it was a good idea to not have coffee and strawberries on the patio this morning ;-)

    Millie & Cindy

  5. That was so exciting when your mom brought Max to meet us. I could barely control myself cause I thought he was gonna move in with us. I really liked him and was kind of sad to see him leave.
I am glad your owie is doing better. Well I am off to check on the snow level. (aint it great)
    see ya soon dude.

  6. That looked like a wonderful day. That is a ton of candy!! The kids are gonna be pretty happy I bet. Mommy can't get over the snow. We don't want any yet and thank you for keeping it there.

    Loveys Sasha

  7. Wow, white stuff! We don't get that often here. What a good boy you are to help wif that candy and not eat it, Goose. Our Mom couldn't be that good. HaHaMeow! Have a great Friday. XOXO

  8. Oh...snow. It's beautiful, but I'm not ready for it! We should still have several more weeks without and that's okay for me. I'm glad your ouchie healed so well, Goose. It looks "tough." A good look for a man dog. I laughed and laughed at you guys with the puppet. I didn't know that pups like puppets so much. You are a good audience for your mom.

  9. The snow is very pretty but we agree that an early morning devotional in THAT would be hard to stay focused on. Your day sounds blissfully wonderful, Goose!

  10. Goose! You've got frosty paws!!

    Bart and Ruby

  11. Well didn't you just have the perfect day! How nice that your Momma got that "whack" of candy for trick or trunk and St Anne's! Monster Max is adorable and it sure looks like he likes you and Bert. How wonderful that you cuddle up on your Momma's lap keeping her warm while she works.
    P.S - I love your snow!!! I just can't wait for ours!

  12. Loving all the snow Goose. Sounds like you had a good day there pal. Have a fabulous Friday.
    Best wishes Molly

  13. I loved your new friend Max ! he looks so friendly !! I want to be petted too...

  14. Looks like a fantastic day! I can't believe how much candy she got! Wow! Those kids are going to be so thrilled. Enjoy your snow and stay warm!

  15. Ah Goose, you always know how to warm our hearts. We'd like to say WOW and a BIG thank you to that candy company. That was really nice of them to be helping out.

Snow already, really! We had a funny day yesterday. It was 81 degrees!! Can't hardly believe it ourselves. Usually its snowing like crazy this time of year. Today it's supposed to be 75. We are not complaining. I know that you will miss sitting outside in the wee morning hours with your Mom as that is really special time for you both. But you are right.... Any time with Mom is very special.

    Lily Belle & Muffin

  16. Too bad that's not a pile of doggy biscuits instead of candy.

  17. Snow!! Snow!!!! No no no!! We think that you should keep all that white stuff over on your side of the states. :)

Have a great Friday and weekend!!
    Shelle, Milo, Dixie and Newby,

  18. You had a wonderful day! That candy company is very kind. They will make a lot of kids very happy!

  21. I'm glad your "owie" is much better . Only the heroes are wearing scares ;o)...I hope all the kids will have a wonderful halloween - maybe you will get the leftovers?

  22. Hey Goose!
Wow, that snow looks great! Boy, your Mom sure cleaned up in the candy category. Just think about all of those happy mini two leggers! They'll be on a sugar high for weeks! BOL. Max looks like a lot of fun to chew on!

  25. NO NO NO... just say NO to sNOw. I am so glad that your boo boo is all better now, my furend.

WOW.. that candy company gets the Gold Star from All of Blogville fur doing that very generous thingy fur the kids.

LOVE your Song with Bert... and OMD that Blue guy is grrrrreat.

  26. So what's so bad about having morning devotions in the snow? We would sure love that:0

Wow, that's a lot of candy, what a wonderful company to be so giving! Our little bipeds are doing Trunk or Treat at our church tonight - going to be a cold one.

Happy Friday - so glad your ouchie has healed.

Woos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning

  27. First of all...BRRRR, second, my girlz love the snow and doing puppy zoomies so actually I'm ready for some white stuff.
That's a lot of candy. Our church does trunk or treat too. We will have over 100 trunks and tons of candy. I do believe Halloween is job security for dentists :)
LOve Max and look forward to hearing more about his story with the children.
Goose you are Bert are quite the pair of vocalists!!
Glad you're back to 100%, now go find that laser :)

  28. We would say you had a GREAT day, furiends and MOM, what else is there besides FOOD. Mom really struck gold on the candy front, hope all the kids have fun!!!

    Your Furiends
    Susie & Bites

  29. Looks like you had a great day Goose. We can't believe Bert shared the ball with Monster max! You and your mom must be a good influence on him.

    Your friends,

    Murphy & Stanley

  30. That looks like the PERFECT day to me, Goose! I don't get why you and your MOM wouldn't want to do coffee out on the patio, though! My mom's like that, too. We have deck time when it's in the 70s and stuff, but toss in some snow and 20 degree temps, and she's all like "Inside, boys!" I don't quite get it. Not that we have snow yet, but the temps are dropping!
Your scar looks totally cool - and it looks like the healing went really well! We're so thankful for that.

  31. Yay for helping hoomins, and u getting better, and ur Mom and friends. (((Luv)))

  32. OMDs Goose your morning ritual had to be altered for sure. Even delish strawberries and warm coffee can't keep you warm enough to stay outside. Yay for healing injuries. Oh and Goose FYI Ladies like manly men with scars.
We do the Trick or Trunk thingy too. well not me but the munchkins.
For the last 2 years we have not had one kiddie go ding a ling at our door.
    Hugs Madi your BFFF

  33. Goose, Happy Friday-I imagine you have more snow too! It snowed all night here and we have about 6". I'm so glad you cut healed so well-I never did hear how you did it other than hiking with your mom(maybe ran into a barbed wire fence?). I loved seeing your mom introduce Max to Bert and the new girl. Hope you have a warm day today too.
    Wags, Noreen & Hunter

  34. Wow that is just great how that candy company came through for those kids!!!! I can't believe the snow you are must have missed us or fizzed out or something...i don't know what to think about Max..he is a corker!!!
    stella rose

  35. Howdy Goose, oooh that snow looks cold but wonderful. What a generous donation of candy. The kids will love it. And Goose, you are right. Scars are sooooo very manly. Take care. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

  36. Scars really are beautiful, Goose.

How fun to see Bert sharing his precious ball with Max!

And puppets? Oh, they're so beautiful too! I love to use them when teaching young children. It's the best!

Happy seeing beautiful (and we saw it - right there on your MOM's arm)!

  37. Oh Goose I like the song you are performing with Bert! Hope it's a sweet love song! Sealed with a kiss Charlotte

  38. Holy Dog, Trick or trunk is gonna be a big hit. Our grand kids do that and it's so much fun for them. that owie sure looked bad, glad your okay now.

    The silvers and more

  39. How generous of the candy companies to donate candy--I know it'll be really enjoyed!!

I also think you're right about how days start and begin, we feel the same way!!

  40. That sure looks like a busy day complete with snow and candy! So glad that you got the staples out. Your ouchie looks like it healed well and just in time to play in the snow!

  41. Boy, that is a lot of candy and a whole lot of kids will be really, really happy. Snow!!! You look really cool in those snazzy scarves and hats. Glad you and your mom are all well again.

  42. I usually start my day on the deck with coffee too. But, I guess that season is over!!!!

That is a boatload of candy. I'm coming trick or treating at your place!!!

I'm glad that your owie is better, Goose. When Shyla arrived, she had bite marks all over her face from a big dog playing too hard with her (so I was told). The vet told me to massage the marks every day - and I did. Guess what! No scars!!!!!

You asked about camoflouging trail cams. It's very tough to do well. But, I've made an art of it in places where people tend to walk past my cameras. It's mainly a matter of choosing very discrete spots to put the cameras so that they have a view of the trail but the people don't notice the cameras. But, the one that was found the other day was in an area that no one has ever visited in all the years that I've had this hobby. So, I left it in an obvious place. No one has emailed me about it so I guess that I lost that great spot. Oh well. At least I didn't lose the camera.

  43. Wow! Yous guys get up even earlier than my Mommy and the hairy slobbery sisters and Kozmo does (Me likes to sleeps in). Mommy meditates. When me has seen her do it, me thought she was sleeping sitting at the table!
We does not has snow, but it is chilly and damp here. Me is feeling my age (so is Bob) and we is moving slower.

  44. Hi Y'all!

Goose, God Bless you and your Mom for all the sweet and wonderful things y'all are doing.

About the snow...I don't really like snow and my Human is afraid of it. Sitting inside and in front of the fireplace, she thinks it is pretty. If she has to go outside, she is terrified.

    Y'all come by now,
    Hawk aka BrownDog

  45. You and your Mom do so much to help others, it's just fantastic and wow there sure was a lot of candy there. We can see there is going to be a lot of really happy children xx00xx

    Mollie and Alfie

  46. I cant believe that you had snow, is that usual this time of year for you???
I like your fuzzy blue friend Monster Max, looks like you and Bert had a good time being stroked by him and giving him love! You Mom is very fun and its a great way to get a message accross to the kids!
Im really glad that your Mom got all those candy donations! Oh thats so genegous!
Love, licks and Hugs from Frank xxxxxx
