Chasing the Light

Hello friends.

One of my favorite things I love to do is chase the light.  Oh Dog is it Fun with a capital F.  It does not matter if I am tired, or don't feel well or if there is some grilled chicken waiting for me.  Just about every time I will choose to chase the light.  So I had MOM put together a video of me doing just that.  Normally we make it completely dark in the house, but for video purposes we had a light on so you could see me in action.  MOM wants me to say that it's not easy to work the laser light and the camera at the same time.  So if some things are out of focus or you don't see me, it's because she does not have four hands.  But I think you will get the idea.  It usually starts out the same way.  I go over to the the entertainment  center and put my nose to the drawer where the laser light is kept.  MOM goes to the stereo and cranks up some tunes, turns out the lights and the fun begins.

Oh how I love it!  And let me tell you it's even more fun when it is completely dark.  Even in the darkness the Light will always shine.
And let me tell you how much fun this is outside and then you add a snow covered ground...... pure joy!

Sometimes we find ourselves in a dark place.  But time and faith play a role in our finding the light.  We should not fear the dark...just keep walking or running or barking and what you will find is the light is seeking you.  And the gift we will receive is living with deep peace, beauty and joy.  May you be blessed with enough dark to move you to deeper faith.  May you be blessed with friends who nourish you in light and encourage you to grow.  May you be a blessing to others who are tripping in the dark, encouraging them with words, and licks, and hugs and acts of beauty and hope.
Blessings,
Goose

  9. that was so much fun to watch but your light made me think of godspell's 'light of the world', which is now looping in my head! "you are the light of the world but the tallest candlestick ain't much good without a wick, you've got to live right to be the light of the world." i love that soundtrack. let's have a sing-a-long!

  17. That was HYSTERICAL! I'm bookmarking this post because it made me laugh out loud so many times! When Cheeto and Sneaky Snake were "filled with the light" you were on top of it. No light better mess with your friends - even if they are a little sneaky.

My favorite part of the whole post is the thinking about chasing the light - needing enough darkness in our lives to understand the thrill to chase light. That was absolutely BEAUTFUL!

  19. Hey Goose!
Wow, that looks like so much fun! I can't get into the light deal, but Ernie is crazy about it like you are. Must be a blast...love your barking! My peeps used to have a Retriever who loved it too. Sometimes they had trouble getting him to go outside because the glass in the door sent light around the kitchen when it opened! BOL Love your video and barking and wagging!

  20. Hi Goose, What fun you have with the light; you and your mama shine brightly too and I know you help many. I thought maybe Hunter would hear your barking and be interested but he is a sleepy head today! There is a song called Valley of Vision that talks about the fact that only when it is dark can we see the stars. Keep sharing the light my friends.

  21. Hellooo Goose ~ WOW you have fun chasing the light. Lee says the light of life is sometimes illusive and it is sometimes hard to hang on to the light in these times. Great words.
    Thanks for being a friend

  40. Our R honestly has been diagnosed as OCD. And, one of the HUGE instructions that we were given was to NEVER EVER let him start chasing a laser light. We were told that he would become obsessed beyond belief. (We have whole routine of behavioral stuff we do with him to keep the OCD under control. Otherwise, he obsessively drinks so much water that his kidneys malfunction.)

I'm glad that you can just love doing it, Goose, without getting obsessed!!!

I "chase the light" a lot with my camera. Literally, I zoom around our mountain with the dogs in tow trying to capture those instants of pure sunny bliss.

  42. Such fun Goose, I would love to try that but Mum says I'm so silly that I would be too focused on the light and go crashing in to things! BOL! I love what you said about the dark, very beautiful, one time in our life we will all have to face the deep darkness and in that time it is good to know that the light will always find you, even if you are not actively seeking it, the light always enters our hearts, my little Puggy light shines bright! Love and Hugs from your Furiend Frank XxxxX
