Day Two at Bert's

Day two at staying at Bert's place while his Vickie is away started at 4:45AM.  Now before I tell you how much fun today was let me tell you about how MOM's day started.  At 4:45 MOM wakes up and wonders why she feels so confined.  Well it seems that not only was I sleeping with her but some of my friends decided to join me in snoozing with MOM.  There were five of us total.  hehehe  Then MOM goes about feeding all the guest.  Then it was time to feed me and the other 7 who were in the house.  That's a lot of kibble pups.  When she finished she went to make her coffee.  MOM brought her own coffee and began to search high and low for the coffee maker.  I thought she was going to lose her mind.  Turns out that Bert's Vickie does not have one cuz she doesn't drink the stuff.  What's  a MOM to do?  Well if you are my MOM you boil some water in a pot.  Put a paper towel over another pot with coffee grounds on the paper towel and pour the hot water slowly over the grounds.  What's the saying, "Where there is a will there is a way."
With the coffee crisis over it was time to get to the activities of the day.

My day started keeping watch over (or is it under) Allred.

I made sure I had every angle covered.

Somedog had to make sure Annie and Bert were safe as they played.

They were so happy I was watching the Devil Cat that they even got to dance.

After all that I needed a nap.  But notice that I slept with one eye open.

Then it was time for some playing outside.  James Dean and Annie got things started.

Then Abby joined in.

Then Bert and I got the ball out.

Abby and James Dean playin' bitey neck

Then it was time for BUBBLES!

Guss and Harley joined in

And Teddy Bear

And Oakley and Cowboy

Then in the afternoon MOM had to take sweet Jamie to the vet.  Don't worry to much.  She was licking a growth behind her right leg and it was bleeding.  (Miss Vickie knew about before she left and said if it was bothering her and bleeding to take her).  It is real BIG and sort of gross.  Looks like a huge cluster of grapes.  So off to the the doctors.  He cleaned it and gave MOM some pills to give her until Vickie returns.  And to protect the thing and keep Jamie from licking it he said to put a.... no not the cone of shame, it's much better.

A T-shirt.  So MOM pulled one of her T-shirts out of her bag and put it on Jamie.  It has Snoopy on it with his mouth open under a water faucet and it says, "I need a drink."

While everyone went outside to play some more I stayed inside to keep watch over Jamie.

And what of Sneaky Snake, Allred, and the duck tape?  Well you'll just have to come back to see.  Have a great weekend everyone.
Blessings,
Goose

  3. You're having quite an adventure, Goose. Do you think you'll be happy to have the peace and quiet when you go home again, or sad because you won't have so many friends around all the time to play with? We think it's very nice of your mom to let 5 or 6 other doggies sleep with her. It's very nice of you, too, to share your mom.

Next time, maybe your mom should either bring instant coffee or her own coffee maker. Mama always travels with her own tea bags, just in case.

We sure hope Miss Jamie gets over her sickies. Is she a day guest or a boarding guest, or does she live with Bert?

  8. What a day! Five dogs in bed sounds like quite a snuggle-fest. Then, the coffee shock! I hope that your MOM picked up a little coffee cone while she was out yesterday.

It sounds like a non-stop day... but lots and lots of fun.

I hope that sweet Jamie is doing well. I'm glad that you kept her company, Goose. You're a great guy.

  10. Goose, you have the best Mom in the whole world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To take on that many dogs to care for----I would be overwhelmed!!!!
Zoie wants to sit in my lap--is the reason I asked what size bed you have. B/c she would want to sleep so close or even on me it would make for a very uncomfortable night!!! She is always wanting to be so close!!!!

PS: Mom helped me with the word "ingenuity". There's no way I would have come up with that one on my own.

  14. Oh Goose what an adventure you are on!!! I've been out of touch since family has been here so I was just catching up on you. I love the pictures of you and your eggs. You know, I think you are doing a wonderful job being in charge at the day care. You seem to have it totally under control. Take care Goose and say hi to your mom.

  15. Oh my Goose! Your mom's day makes me tired just reading about it! Looks like quite a day at the Country Club. Bert and the gang are so lucky to have you and your mom there to look over things. I hope Miss Vickie is having fun on her adverture. Can't wait until we can get together again. We've been missing our get togethers. We have to go to the groomer today.......... :( (Looks like a good roll in the dirt will be in order when we get home :)

    Miss ya,

  16. Hi Goose, I loved hearing about your day; your mom is so creative in figuring out how to make her coffee. I too am stuck on coffee but if I didn't have it, I'd make a strong cup of tea(black though for the caffeine). I imagine your mom is going to be very tired while she is watching over so many furbabies. What a friend! We all need friends like you and your mom.
    Hugs, Noreen
