Day Three

If you follow my blog you know that for the last three days Bert and I have hit it pretty hard.  Thursday we went to Willard Bay in the frigid cold, MOM said it felt like 5 below 0.  I would say it was more like 10 degrees.  Then on Friday we met up with other friends at our favorite spot and we romped and play.  It was not as cold but we played and explored pretty hard.
Then today we went to the 21st Street pond but it was so cold for the humans that we went back to our favorite spot again where it didn’t seem as cold.  MOM said she noticed a change in me.  But more on that later.  First let me share with you a few photos of what we did today.

First a little play in the ball field

This is a rare shot, Bert without a ball in his mouth.

They play in the water, while I clear the path of sticks

Is that a stick over there?  Let me check

MOM can we go catch up with everyone and stop this silly "sit while I take a picture stuff."

I've moved on to logs, they really are just large sticks

Then there was A LOT of water play

Yes I found a stick in the water

My stick work is never done.

Bert is a little distort, he loss his ball.  And maybe his mind.

This is me when we got home.  I’m a little tuckered out.
Now the change in me that MOM thinks she saw… well, she thinks I am a little more tired than normal.  When I got up this morning I was a little stiff.  “For heavens sake MOM.”  I said.  “I will turn 12 on February 14th.  That’s like you being 84 with a walker.”  But being the worrier that she can be with me, we went to the pet store.

This is what she got me, a memory foam bed.  She said it was better than her bed and it would help with my stiffness.  I guess it’s OK.  She also got me some yummy chewy tablets to help with the stiffness.  Maybe all I need is a "stiff" drink.  (That one's for you Puddles).
This is me later on that night.  I am one tough dog and I don’t need no stinkin’ memory foam bed.  I'll just take a snooze on the floor.  But I might take that drink.   hehhehehe
But ya gotta love the woman, she cares.  And I love her so much that if she wants to sleep on my new bed I’ll let her.
Blessings,
Goose

  3. Goose Buddy, I think it is cute your mom worries. But man, you outdo me and I am only 3 1/2. I hope I can be as healthy and active as you when I am old(ER)

I must be tired too though cause While My vickie types this for my, I am up on the lazy boy resting. I hardly ever get on the lazy boy. Just when I am totally wiped out.

    See ya bud,

    Have a nice Sunday

  4. Dear Goose,
Hey! Yous and me is the same age! And neither of us looks older than 7! Must be all the good thoughts wes thinks.
My Hairy Slobbery sister is 12 and she is starting to get a little stiff. Playing with Cinnamon (who is only 8 months old) is a little hard on her old bones. When she gets stiff she gets a Doggy aspirin. Its gots all kinds of vitamins in it and it helps her sleep. She won't sleep on her special bed either!

  9. Wow 12 is the new 8!! I had no idea Goose will be 12! He looks great! Maybe he is stiff from all that fence jumping but he is an active fellow.

I bought Halle a new bed too & she preferred her lumpy old one. Finally I donated the $170 brand new bed to the Dog Tired Doggy Day Care (she & little Jeter go there on Mondays & Wednesdays).

  10. Well Goose, your looking pretty darn good for 12! You romp around with those younger guys like your 4! You better listen to your Momma though and take care of those stiff bones. Your memory foam bed will start feeling pretty good to you if you give it a chance!

  13. Hey Goose, I hope a bit of rest has you back to 100%! It's only natural to be a bit more tired after taking on more activity but better kick back with your mom today so she doesn't worry so much.

  17. Howdy Goose, grrreat new bed. Bet your mum will love using it herself hehehe. Sorry you are feeling a little stiff after your three wonderful days. Mum says fish oil tablets are good for older doggies too. Our old girl Kara used to take them. Have a great week. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

  18. Hi Goose, I never would have thought you were the age you are, I thought you were really really young-like under eight. I'm so glad your mom wants to spoil you though, you sure deserve it. Hope the tablets help. Don't forget to take little naps every now and again, even us human seniors do.

  20. Oh my dogness Goose I never imagined that you were already almost 12. You look and at like a little pup, at least in your pictures you do. Such a pup at heart I guess. Just make your mom happy and use the memory foam bed. It will make her so happy.

    1. hey Goose,

What pawsome pictures! You and your friends sure know how to have a good time! Five below zero is nothing! But I know humans seem to think it is. BOL! I am sorry to read you are feeling more stiff lately, and a bit more tired. Getting old is not fun. Your mom is super cool to get you such a great bed. And you are very sweet for sharing it with her! :-> Hope the medicine helps and that you perk up in no time!

  22. A stiff drink! Ha roo roo roo! Good one, Goose!
You and your friends have so much fun! We love seeing pix from your outings! You and your stick-loving spirit remind our mom of our great-brother Booter ('87-01). He was a Lab/Aussie mix and he LOVED sticks, too! He'd often bring one home on walks, so Mom let him have The Stick Hall of Fame outside the back door.
Dave and I have a bed like that! We ignored it for about the first year or so that we had it - now we like it. Keep 'em guessing - that's what I say!

  23. Goose reminds me of the Golden we had before the Chessies. He never wanted a soft bed and preferred the hard floor even at 13. But Goose. you need to remember you are not a pup anymore and take care of those joints so you can run and play with the younger dogs. Great pictures on this post. :)
