Good News

Hey All.

As you know I went to Dr. Eddie on Friday to they could take pictures of my shoulder to see if I have OCD, Osteochondritis Dissecans, a disease of the cartilage.

Momma would not feed me breakfast.  I did not understand this.  I mean, I eat breakfast at 4:30 in the morning and here it was already 7:30 and NO breakfast.
"Momma I know it is Friday and that day I let you sleep in until 5:30, but we have been up for 2 hours now and there is no breakfast in my bowl.  What gives?"
"Bud you can't have anything to eat or drink until after you appointment with Dr. Eddie."
"What you talkin' about momma?"

Well we got to Dr. Eddies and I waited with momma in the exam room.

The wait wasn't long, but since momma didn't feed me my breakfast I thought it best to take a nap while we waited.  I mean I DID NOT HAVE breakfast!  I did not want to faint.

Finally Dr. Eddies nice helper peoples came in and stuck me in the butt with a needle, and I fell a sleep.  I DO NOT know why they had to wake me up to stick a needle in me so I would go to sleep.  I was ALREADY sleeping!

They took my pictures and then brought me back out to my momma and laid me on the floor so I could wake up while Dr. Eddie looked at the pictures they took of me.  Then Dr. Eddie came out and showed momma my pictures and explained it all to her.

This is my shoulder.  You see where my shoulder joint meets?  That white half circle on the bottom is white with the darker part right above it.  If I had OCD then that white part would be black.  So that means I do not have OCD!

I was still a bit sleepy as Dr. Eddie showed momma more pictures of me.  Let me just say, while Dr. Eddie is a GREAT doctor he is no photographer.  If momma wanted more pictures of me she should just ask Dr. Liz (who has taken the most bestest photos of me) to take some more.

Anyway then Dr. Eddie showed momma a picture of my elbow.  What you see in this picture is my elbow joint.  There is that round circle part and above to the left you see that part that is sort of rough and jagged.  That should be smooth.  What does this mean you ask?  Well it means at the age of two I have arthritis in my left elbow.  Not to big of a deal, not compared to OCD.  I will just take joint supplements.

Momma says I have to tell you this part of the story even if it is embarrassing for me.  While Dr. Eddie was telling momma about my elbow, momma was petting me.  Then I sort of came to a little bit and I heard Dr. Eddies voice, opened my eye and it scared me so much that protective barked and I pooped a little.  Dr. Eddie literally scared the poop out of me.  Thank the Lord above momma didn't take a picture of that.

Then momma took me home.  I was still seeing dancing rainbows and dragons.  That sleepy shot sure does make a guy see strange things.  But I did remember that momma said after my appointment that we would stop by the magic cheeseburger window.

Momma always keeps her promises.  I have heard about these cheeseburgers and now I get a whole cheeseburger all to myself!!!!

Now I am wondering, "why is this not on my menu everyday?"

After my cheeseburger, momma laid down next to me and we took a nap together.  I'm not sure if momma was seeing and dreaming of dancing rainbows and dragons, but I still was.  Thank you dear friends for all your well wishes, good thoughts, POTP, and prayers.  Next time you see me I am sure I will be in the wilds having an adventure with momma and my pal Bert.

Blessings,
Buddy

  5. Don't worry about having the poop scared out of you; after Abby's surgery they gave Mom some muscle relaxants to give Abby for a week (because they had to move muscles out of the way to get to the lymph node) and she was so relaxed she left little poop-lets around the house for almost the entire day!

YAY for a trip to the Magic Cheeseburger Window! You've FINALLY got your Momma fully trained - good job, Buddy!

And while our Mom loves to take photos of you because you are a super model, she says she can't get any photos of your insides (and for that we are thankful, because Mom would totally take photo of our insides if she could.... our Mom is a wee bit weird!).

Thankfully it's only arthritis - maybe you can go into a swimming pool or something fun like that and call it 'therapy'!

  19. That was a long day but I bet that the cheeseburger fixed everything! Did your momma get one too? Man, my pups are wishing for that kind of medicine too!

I've seen lots of elbow xrays, Buddy. Yours looks a bit like R's did when he was a young puppy. Take good care of it. Lots of swimming is good. Chasing balls and other fetch toys sadly is not good... But I'm sure that Dr. Eddie told you all about that sort of thing.

I'm glad that it's not OCD! That's great news!

  20. Well thank God you do not have that OCD! We know that arthritis is not fun but with some magic pills you hopefully will be out there hiking once again.

Your story of dragons and pooping is gonna make us laugh all day long.

  22. There are certainly a lot of details like that to take into consideration. That is a great point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game.
