The Animal Mind

Hello Friends.

MOM and I are still around.  MOM is still working lots, but she has 3 of the 4 extra projects behind her now.  One more week and we will be back to normal around here.  Well as normal as it can be.  Anyway... while MOM was on her way to the homeless shelter Wednesday morning she stopped at the grocery store, something about needing a few things to fix lunch for the peoples who come to the shelter.  When she came back to the Blazer and loaded up the back with stuffs she got in and showed me something.  It was a magazine and said, "What do you think about this?"  I had an opinion right away.

So when we came home last night I decided to check this whole thing out.  It's a TIME magazine, and it's cover title is "The Animal Mind: What they're thinking and feeling, and how to understand them."  Hummmmm this should be interesting.

I dug in right away.  There are a lot of different parts to this magazine.  I started with the section entitled, "Why Cats and Dogs Think Differently about You."  Very interesting points where made.  One of the points made was that "Dogs serve people, but people serve cats."  What do you all think about that?

There are a lot of other sections that I will need to read through, like: "Animals have brains, but do they have minds?"  Is that a serious question?  I mean look at me, I'm reading their magazine.  Dahhhh.  "Those who know the meaning of friendship."  We certainly do know the meaning.  Other sections talk about "Animal Talk", "Animal Grief", "Power of the Pack", "Mental Illness", "Animal Rights", and much more.  I told MOM that I would read through it all and give her my professional opinion on the whole thing.  After all, who would know the animal mind better than us.  Go to the source I always say.
Blessings,
Goose

Hmmm will be interesting, Prof Goose, to find out if the mag is confusing mind with intellect. All active critters have some level of thinking. One thought attached to another is mind. Thoughts alone do not an intellect make. Therein lies analysis and conjecture, the art of discrimination ... OOOHHHHH big things here dear friend! Do please share it with all of us too!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  7. I've looked at that a couple of times and can't make up my mind if I want to read it or not. BOL - I'm sort of critical of people saying that dog is anything less than perfect.
