Heitlooms+Wine+Goose =

Hello Friends.

See this here wine glass.  When my MOM was 16 (that's more than 30 years ago) her Grannymom died.  Butt before she did my MOM's Grannymom gave her these wine glasses.  When Grannymom gave them to my MOM the wine glasses where 75 years old.  They were given to Grannymom by her mother when Grannymom got married.  So now these glasses are over 100 years old.  My MOM and Grannymom had a wonderfully beautiful relationship.  One filled with laughter, love, adventure, caring, and zest for life.  So you can imagine how cherished these glasses are to my MOM.  Cherished butt not hidden away.  When there is a need for a glass of wine my MOM uses them.  Last evening MOM got out one of the glasses filled it, put some fruit and cheese on a plate for dinner and she sat on the floor with me.  She told me some great stories about her Grannymom, how much she loved dogs and the fun times they had together.  Then, Then... this happened.

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!!!!  That's a hundred + year old wine glass on my head WITH wine in it!  Oh My Gannymom!

MOM didn't even surround me with pillows or bubble wrap or soft feathers.  Nothing butt me between the glass and the floor.  MOM laughed and said that her Grannymom would love that I am balancing her wine glasses on my head.  Grannymom sure sounds like she was a great peep.  I heard that Grannymom played the organ.  I sure hope I won't be balancing that on my head.
Blessings,
Goose

As R&P just said, it proves mom's trust in your stability; it shows also the extension of the love down the generations... and perhaps the need to go steady with the tipple... Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  21. Holy Moley! You are both brave and balanced. I'm glad your mom uses the "good stuff" rather than leave it in the cupboard. My mom does too -- she eats her breakfast cereal out of a good china bowl with her mom's silver spoon. I get to lick the bowl cuz she always leave a little for me at the end. Lady Caroline
