Bert's Mischief

Hello Friends.

A few days ago I went on a walk with my buddy Bert and Miss Sophie.

That's him right there.  The Golden Boy himself.
You might be asking yourself, "Golden Boy Bert was mischievous?"  Yes Friends, this Search and Rescue, Therapy, all around goody goody dog has a mischief side.  On this one I agree with my MOM and Miss Vickie.

Looks innocent enough right?  Butt what you may not know is he is asking permission to jump into the river!  I AM NOT KIDDING.

He then puts his toes in, hoping to get the go ahead to slash in.

And when no one would say "It's OK Bert, go ahead and take a dip."  He just turned and submerged himself in the ICY waters.

Even Miss Sophie, as much as she LOVES Bert, stays on the snowy bank.  Butt of course she is ready to give him smooches when he comes back up.

Can you see the icicles hanging off his furs?!  And he is smilin' about this.  Or maybe that smile on his face is just frozen there.  Right after this photo was taken he jumped right back in again!

He called me over to join him butt I still have a few more brain cells than my Golden Boy buddy.  Oh sure I dipped my toes to get a drink, but jump in????  He has to be crazy.  If that isn't mischief enough when he comes up out of the icy water he runs over to my MOM and shakes.  MOM says that is most defiantly mischief.  Butt it does not end there friends.  After he shakes off on my MOM he does this....

He rolls and rolls in the snow and gets his furs all iced up.  He says it's called "freeze-dried".  If you ask me I think the icy water has frozen more than a few brain cells.
Blessings,
Goose

  5. Silly Bert! Maybe he was just trying to show off how brave he is and how nothing fazes him? But the rolling in the snow was just uncalled for.

I don't know any doggie who would go in the freezing water for fun.

  12. It's a great idea to make your own ice cream with your fur, but I better don't try it, I'm blue with cold while reading and imagine Bert's adventure. Have a great monday

  13. OMD OMD Goose... we think that living with Allred has Messed with Berts Brains. It is amazing that he didn't turn into a big PUPSICLE.
We hope that he didn't get the Sickies from this. OH never mind... we furgot that the sickie germs would have FROZEN before they could do their damage.
Bert.... all we can say is BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT ! What were you thinking?

  15. *sheesh* Here we thought Bert was all wonderful and well-behaved and whatnot, and now we see he's not so much well-behaved as having frozen most of his brain cells! At least Burt makes everyone else around him look well-behaved now! Heehee! (BTW, we like snow, but you don't see US taking a dip in barely-above-freezing water!)

  23. Mom says she is glad we don't get to go to the river because she thinks Lightning would try that too. It is really cold here today, it was 10 below when we first went out, but at least this time we all came back in very quickly.

  36. Hi Y'all!

I like to go into the water to cool off on a hot day, or warm day...on a snowy day I prefer to stay indoors! or go indoors if my Human insists I "go" outside...I only stay out long enough...

    Y'all come by now,
