See that huge pile of laundry on the right? That's about 2 and 1/2 hours of ironing. But as I said she loves it (maybe not this much all at once however). MOM says she likes it because like mowing the lawn she can see results or sees a change, like the wrinkles being smooth out or seeing the freshly mowed yard, even if the lines in the yard are not perfectly straight, it has a calming effect on her. Want to see how I do my laundry?
First I stretch out my furs
Then I push my furs across the grass
Then I roll over
And I do the other side
Almost done
Finally I shake out my furs. My laundry is done. Same concept, different approach.
But you know if we all did "laundry" the same way what a boring and uninspiring world this would be. I like living in a world where MOM smooths out her paint stained t-shirts with the iron and I smooth out my furs by rolling in the grass. It makes the world more interesting and beautiful when we are allowed to be who we are. And you know what, I get unexpected joy when I join MOM by laying behind her while she irons and she gets unexpected joy when she rolls around in the grass with me.
Blessings,
Goose
I like your method of ironing better Goose. I avoid ironing at all costs and would never iron a t-shirt. I guess we all have our own way of relaxing.
ReplyDeleteCindy
Goose, even my Mommy agrees that your ironing is much better. Mommy totally hates ironing and says all kinds of HBO words when she has to do it. I will try your kind, it looks like fun.

Those are great instructions and rules to live by
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Great concept and post! We think we might just get "pressed" if we tried to roll around with you! MOL! Mommy says you look just like a puppy rolling around. Adorable. XOXO
ReplyDeleteWoof! Woof! Both of our moms are nuts about ironing. Not really sure what's the deal of ironing a TSHIRT!. I like your version ... lately I do it on the sand and an actually rinse happens. Lots of Golden ALOHA n Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeletedefinately need to see pics of you and your mum rolling round in the grass together, now that would be a fun pic!!! i despise ironing, so i dont have an iron or an ironing board, i just do my washing and wait for the machine to stop and then hang it up to dry straight away. if theres any creases in still i just dont care cos after you wear stuff for a while it gets a bit creased anyway dont it. i like to go on my rowing machine infront of the tv, thats my boring task that i get to enjoy by watching Big Brother, i love reality shows. sad i know :) he he!
ReplyDeleteHi Goose , I run away when any house work needs doing. I'm too cool to do any of that stuff but cooking is my thing. Anything to do with food is good. Have a great Friday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly

I like your version of laundry Goose!
ReplyDeleteI love this! Goose, I'm more your type of ironer. While I love, love to mow the lawn in my grass-stained tennis shoes I could never quite get an iron to smooth our the wrinkles. I just caused more. Something we do love, though? Vacuuming. Because we get tumbleweeds of hair in our home on a daily basis vacuuming is instant clearing of the home and mind too. Love it!
ReplyDeleteHappy seeing beautful!
Hey Goose!
ReplyDeleteWow, my Mom practically refuses to iron! BOL. She'll go wrinklie or steam something in the drier before getting out the iron. I love your idea! Say, that's some great roaching for the olympic event too!
Grr and Woof,
Sarge, COP
Whe you think about, it's perfectly logical that ironing makes her relax: it's not much different from the buddhist sand gardens that they spend hours playing with!
ReplyDeleteLots of slobber,

I LOVE your Ironing style Goose. HECK SAKES... you even Iron the GRASS.. it's a TWOfur...
ReplyDeleteYou are the best fur-ironin Goose-dog we has ever seen! What talent yous has for fur-ironin!
ReplyDeleteSugar the Who
I think you are a very wise dog, Goose! It's a good thing that people don't all do things the same way, or dogs, either. I am definitely trying out your ironing technique, though, because that looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteBunny
My grandma used to love ironing, not me. I use the Downy Wrinkle Reducer. It is in a spray bottle. LOL
ReplyDeleteGoose, your Mom is just like ours. She loves to iron too as long as the basket isn't too full. She finds it relaxing and can think more clearly. She doesn't know very many peeps who still iron. We ra elite you, just roll around to et all clean. And so what if the best place to roll is the mud:).

I love the system you and your Momma have going for your laundry! It works out great for both of you! :)
ReplyDeleteHmmmm . . . .still trying to get past the fact anyone likes to iron. My mom likes how things look when ironed but dislikes the task so much that the clothes sit on the ironing board for a very long time waiting for their turn. But speaking of laundry, my mom LOVES the smell of laundry when she goes running. People might be surprised at the smells that come out of their homes but of course we dogs know all about that. Anyway, mom loves to smell the houses when she runs. The best smells are in the morning and evening. She has threatened to knock on the door and ask the people what kind of detergent they use. So far she hasn't done it.
ReplyDeleteYour friends,
Murphy & Stanley
Oh, almost forgot . . . we might not see you tonight because the grand daughter peep is having a birthday party and it might not be over in time for us to come.
ReplyDeleteYour friends,
Murphy & Stanley
Oh Goose I thought my Lee was the only person left who ironed everything! I like your way of ironing it is more fun. Today we are making applesauce from an apple tree we found in the woods. We gathered them up in Lee's t-shirt. Good thing she had on a tee top under the t-shit.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a friend,
Sweet William The Scot
Your ironing technique should be patent-registered! I like it - Charlotte the desperate housewife...
ReplyDeleteSounds like the perfect way to share each other's joys!

I love it that mom will roll around on the grass with you Goose.

I think I like your ironing technique my friend. :)
ReplyDeleteGoose, we love your outlook on life. Mum hates ironing and does at little as possible BUTT, we love her wrinkly look. See ya mate. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
ReplyDeleteI like your ironing technique MUCH better than your Mom's! She must have the best looking closet/drawers on the block!
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Ruby
Pee Ess - we left you an award over at our blog. XOXO
ReplyDeleteAwwww! :). Heehee.
ReplyDeleteGoose, I agree with your mom. I like to iron also, but once you fall behind in ironing it's stinks to catch up on it. Your way of doing laundry is way better. BOL
ReplyDeleteThe silvers and more
It looks to me like you're the one about to do the ironing, Goose!
ReplyDeleteI love to help my mom with the laundry! I especially love to help change the bed. My favorite part is smoothing the clean sheets onto the bed -- then I not only see the fruits of my labors BUT I come out of it smelling like Downey! I LOVE smelling like Downey! Sigh. that's the best!
Don't you and your MOM work too hard!
Play bows,
Zim
Perfectly pawed Goose:)
ReplyDeleteDoes your mom iron sheets? My peeps sister in law does and she also sets aside Saturday mornings every week (faithfully) to iron - including all the sheets. That still amazes my mom. But as you said, the world is better for it's divirsssity in everything - even the laundry:) Goose, your furs look pawmazing! Great job!
Now that I read that, I see I need some spelling lessons....*sigh*
ReplyDeleteGoose you are so helpful with laundry! I wish I loved to iron like your Mom, I would probably look a lot more put together haha, happy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteWoof to you Goose!!!! While I love ironing because I do it your way, my assistant loathes all types of ironing because she grew up in a home where EVERYTHING had to be ironed .... socks, underwear, towels, sheets .... you get where I'm going. After seeing your photos, she's opened up to the idea that maybe SOME types of ironing aren't so bad. Much love to you Goose - XXOO - Mazzie
ReplyDeleteHave to say, I think I like your idea of laundry better then ironing Goose. :)
ReplyDeleteOur mom was wondering if we could have your address. You see we have this HUGE box of ironing that we could send her via UPS or FedEx or something... ;)
