I want to talk to ya about friendship today. I will also show you some photos of some of my bestest friends on a recent play day. Some of the photos might be a little dark cuz it was getting dark as we played and played. I love these guys and gals.
Ty and Tucker
I would like to ask you two questions, first: "What would you consider the highest honor that you could receive? The second question is: "What is the finest gift that you could give?"
Everyone's friend, Murphy
Answers to these questions can vary widely. But I can answer these questions very simply, I believe the highest honor I can receive is the friendship of another. I believe the finest gift that we can give to another is our friendship.
Bert, a buddy if ever there was one
When Jesus met with his disciples in the Upper Room he shared with them many things that eventful night. Jesus gave his disciples the highest honor they could ever receive. He took them into his heart and said, "You are my friends ...."
Me, Ty, Tucker, Boci, and Logan
You know what I think characterizes a friend? It's one to whom you may pour out all the contents of your heart, chaff and grain together, knowing that the gentlest of hands, or paws as it were, will take it and sift it, keep what is worth keeping, and with the breath of kindness blow the rest away.
I had to show you this. Look I am WET from head to tail! Yes I did it, got all the way in the water. True it was because I slipped and went in head first. But I did it, I SWAM!
Friendship is like a thief that was wearing a mask, and his gun was pointed toward a frightened victim. The robber is holding out a sack and saying, "Give me all of your valuables!" The victim then begins stuffing into the sack all of his friends.
Ty, Tucker and Bert's Butt
I don't believe there is hardly anything in life, outside of the grace of God, that is more valuable than a friend. I can honestly say I don't know of anything more valuable, more blessed, more strengthening, and more encouraging than a true friend. A friend is someone who multiplies your joys and divides your grief.
While Logan swims I try to get this stick out of his way.
There is a scripture that talks about friends and sticks (I know, how cool is that?) it says "a friend who "sticks" closer than a brother." Did you know that the Indian word for friend translated into English means, "One who carries my sorrows on his back."
This would not be complete without a picture of my best gal pal Belle
Friendship is a loving relationship. You see, a real friend is not only someone who likes you, it's someone who loves you. Prov. 17:17 says, "A friend loves at all times..."
Me and my best friend, my MOM.
Blessings,
Goose

Woof to you Goose!!!! You are so blessed - both to have so many friends and to be a friend to so many. And way to go getting all the way in the water and swimming!!!! Even though you fell, it doesn't matter - you worked through a scary moment, went with the flow and emerged victorious!!!! And my assistant and I love the photo of you and your MOM at the end of the post. Much love to you Goose - XXOO - Mazzie
ReplyDeleteOh, Goose! This was just beautiful, buddy! That last picture brought tears to my eyes -- and to my mom's. We're going to re-read those Bible passages tonight at bedtime. Mom sits with me now, until I fall asleep, and we read together. I think I'd like to read these.

ReplyDeleteGoose you are so very right about the value of friendship. We are very pleased to meet you, we read about you on Nellie's blog and wanted to come introduce ourselves. We are 3 cats, although Arty Mouse (Artemisia) has been missing since May 21st and we are very worried about her, Scylla and Socks and one dog Fenris.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Goose. For your beautiful words of wisdom. I used to dislike animals but eventually I realise that they are men's best friends. Especially doggies :) I am enlightened now.

We love this post, I think we will come back to read it again. Love all the photos of you and your friends, you all seem to have so much fun together, it's so fun to see. We don't get to be around many other dogs. We love that you swam, you look mighty proud. We hope you frame that picture of you and your mom, it's a great one.
ReplyDeleteThe silvers and more
Goose, we'd "stick" with you anywhere. It's amazing that through a blog we consider ourselves honored to call you and your MOM friends. Through the brilliance of the internet (that sometimes drives us crazy), it's afforded an opportunity to spread the kind of friendship reflected by Jesus. When we slip and fall - head first into the water (well done swimming, buddy) - our friends are there to pick us up, dry us off, and never waiver in their belief in us. That is a completely inspiring and wonderful gift God gave us. Love this post!
ReplyDeleteHappy seeing beautful!
Looks like you and your friends had a wonderful day! We all need to enjoy life the way that you do.
ReplyDeleteOh Goose ~ You and your Mommy, best friend, picture is just a treasurer!
