I gathered Sneaky and Rex outside and showed them what a good stick looks like. These are my two beaver sticks MOM hauled back for me from way up in the mountains.
Before we begin we need to give thanks for these sticks.
I am showing Rex how to take on a stick. He was a natural. Sneaky on the other paw thought sticks were just for wrapping around and sunning himself.
While I was teaching Rex and Sneaky how to chew a stick. MOM went and picked apples from our trees. She came back with a couple bucket fulls. I love apples. And I could not help myself, I took one out of the bucket and brought it back to my friends.
Rex was more interested in the stick than the apple.
Sneaky on the other paw was very interested in the apple.
I showed Sneaky how to gulp one up in one bite. I know, I am a dog of many skills.
Nom nom. Ya gotta love apples and sticks.
Another fun thing to do is "Apple Toss". Come on MOM toss me another one. A fast apple right down the middle.
This Goose does not need a glove to catch a fast apple. Woo Hoo!
Whatever your "Sticks" or "Apples" are, I hope you enjoy them and share them with your friends.
Blessings,
Goose
Goose, what a fun day! It was nice of you to share your sticks with your favorite toys. I love apples too, but I can't eat one like you do. You are the master and I bow to you. Thanks for the informative picture, but I don't think I could ever do that.
ReplyDeleteLoveys Sasha

ReplyDeleteGoose Goose Goose, My Vickie and I must say, myself, are very impressed with your "Apple Toss" skills. What technique, the way all four feet leave the ground, your mouth opens and your ears shoot straight up in the air. Very Imressive.

Its always good to share, so thank you for sharing this post today! It made me and Mum smile really big! Love, Licks and Hugs from Frank xxxxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a great lesson for all of us Goose!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to see that Sneaky and Rex got out of the house for a while and were able to play with your lovely sticks.
You are so kind to share the spotlight with them both.
Hugs,
Lily Belle
Goose, you definitely know how to enjoy life!
ReplyDeleteGoose I think your furends really took your lesson to heart. If they study hard and STICK to your plan... they will end up a Master of the Stick... like YOU are.
ReplyDeleteYou have apples... ALREADY??? Ours won't be ready until September. GREAT CATCH... would you consider playing fur the Cleveland Indians???
We have apples here too! They are awesome to play with! Enjoy your day, my friend!
ReplyDeleteWoof to you Goose!!!! You are a very patient and kind teacher. And I so wish I had a beaver stick of my own, but I think the odds of finding one in my West Village neighborhood are pretty slim. Much love to you Goose - XXOO - Mazzie
ReplyDeleteHi Goose, My youngest daughter & family have an apple tree in their backyard-it is a new one they just got this year. Today there were only three apples on it because Samson(their big 120 lb dog)keeps picking them; the tree is a miniature also so it is easy pickins.
ReplyDeleteLove that your mom was seeing how well you can catch apples; I love your sticks.
Have a waggin day.

Apple toss sounds like fun

Hi Goose as to your last comment we thought we'd just park that issue as us poor tax payers are a bit browned off as it is , let alone with the realisation that we are paying for Olympic nocturnal activities too. Mind you might be a bit of an Olympic feat in those little single beds with Excellence, Friendship, Respect’ printed on the duvets. You couldn't make it up. Have a great evening.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Hi Goose, my name is stella rose and I live in iowa. I have been reading your blog and am enjoying it much! It is so nice to meet you. I am a new blogger.
ReplyDeleteI can see now why you are the host of the stick events. Next is apple bobbing!
ReplyDeleteWe cannot believe that your mom throws you apples. Maybe your mom could teach our mom to throw them to us, we only get apples from a basket off the counter, when she is not around BOL......
ReplyDeleteThe silvers and more
Goose you be careful with the centers of those apples! They are dangerous for us doggies because mom says they contain a poison called Arsenic!
ReplyDeleteMom always cores apples for me!
~stinky kisses, Mason
Goose, you always have the very best sticks ever. We are going to tell Mom she has to go up in those mountains and find some for us. It sure would be a good way to keep Lightning busy and out of trouble.
ReplyDeleteApples - yummers - fun to play with AND good for you. An apple a day . . .
Woos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
Oh Goose, freshly picked apples!! YUM!!!!
ReplyDelete~Higgins
Yeah Goose, we heard the same thing about those apples so be careful buddy! Those beaver sticks are great, we still have the one you gave us. When we go to the ocean there are some things called redwoods and mom said they are really big sticks. We'll let you know. We aren't going for a couple weeks.
ReplyDeleteYour friends,
Murphy & Stanley
Wow, sticks and apples too! Awesome! :)
ReplyDeleteGoose, piggies want to be your best friends. They wheek for your support to catch apples for them ;) your love for apples will bond you together, forever.
ReplyDeleteThank you for being our friend,
Sankissjuice
Those are some serious sticks Goose. And you are quite the apple-catcher! Glad you could share the fun with your friends.
ReplyDeleteBoy Goose, you sure know how to show your friends a good time. That apple catching sure beats bobbing for them. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm just playing a bit of catch up while on holidays. :)
The apple toss picture is my favorite. It's like the apple was made to be caught by you - not sneaky snake - though that was real sweet of you to share. ;)
