I'm Back

Hello Friends I am back, sorta.  I missed you all so much that MOM said we could come back a little early and I said it would do both of us some good.  MOM said I could tell ya why we have been gone.  As I said in my last post I needed to help my MOM for a while cuz a sad thing happened in our family and MOM had to attend to some family stuff.
See my human grandpa died Friday night, that's my MOM's father.

It was somewhat unexpected and caught us all off guard.  I stepped up and had to help MOM with extra hugs, cuddles, loves and stuff like that.  MOM said I was a big help and has made things easier for her.  But friends I think the hardest part is yet to come.  On Monday my Pastor MOM will be officiating his memorial service.  I don't know how she will do it but be assured I will be there to help her through it.

Through all this, this MOM of mine, has never neglected me once!  We still have takin' our walks and hikes.  I've gotten extra treats and belly rubs.  When I laid on the floor, MOM laid with me.  And she played laser light with me (I LOVE THAT).

One day MOM walked with me and Belle for a couple hours around the 10 acres of the church.  Well, Belle and I ran and ran and made MOM laugh with our antics.

If ya think about it on Monday would you stop for a moment and say a little prayer for my MOM as she leads her father's memorial.  I know she would appreciate it and so would I.
Make sure you check back on Friday.  Me and SUGAR have something beautiful to share with you.
Blessings,
Goose

  3. Goose, we pray for you and your mom, for comfort and strength. We think it would be hard to officiate at a loved ones service but it also is a wonderfully unique opportunity to pay tribute to a life and to praise God for the gift of a loved one. It will be good you will be with your mom. Also, Thank you for your prayers for me and Stanley.

    Your friends,

    Murphy and Stanley

  11. We are thinking of your Mom at this time Goose and will be sending her lot of power of the paws prayers to help her get through the sermon. Mom always remember a good friend telling her that we should celebrate the life the person had and remember all those wonderful little things we know about them. We know the grandpa will be watching and we are sure he won't want to see everyone sad.

  26. ditto what KSO said... I lost my mother recently (Easter Sunday) and it's still so hard to think of that night and know that I'll never get to talk to her again. You're very brave to officiate your dad's memorial service. I'll be thinking of you.

  27. White Dog woos of sorrow for your loss and gentle licks of comfort for your spirit. We send strength so that your service is one of hope and everlasting love for your dad...for your family...for those who feel the loss...and mostly, for you. We hold you in our thoughts.

  28. Oh Goose...your Mom is probably needing extra lovin' and your "only a dog unconditional understanding and support" right now...I am so so very sorry for all of you. Sudden losses are tough because we always think there will be time to be together and say the things we need to say to say to each other...luckily for your mom, she can say all she needs to say to her Dad at his service Monday...she is couragious and strong and she will no doubt have guidance from above to get through it all. Paws together, prayin' for you during this most difficult time.

  37. Hi Y'all,

I came by to say thanks for stoppin' to visit me!

Goose, pawed ones are the most comfort to our humans. Just the fact that we never judge them...maybe God did send us to care for humans because he knew how fragile they are.

I'll keep my paws crossed for y'all and my Humans will keep you both close in our prayers. Both my Humans have lost their parents, so they know the emptiness and strangeness your mom is feeling.

    Y'all come back now,
    Hawk aka BrownDog
