Going on a Trip

First my MOM wants me to thank all of you for your prayers for Monday.  It was the day that my Pastor MOM officiated at her fathers memorial.  She knew that she could not get through it with out your prayers and with God's grace.  MOM did fine, she had an incredible support system and that included each of you.  So thank you!

Tonight MOM got out the suitcase and said something about Colorado.  Woo Hoo we are going on a trip!  I even packed my own bag.

"Look MOM I have a few of things almost ready to go."

"I think there is room for more treats, maybe even my bed."

"Goosey, you can't come with me."
"WHAT!?"
"I need to go to Colorado for work."
"Work?  What, are there lost sheep over there?  People who need help?  I'm good at finding the lost and helping.  I could be a big help."
"Gooseberry, there are lost sheep, and those in need everywhere.  That's not why I am going.  It's our churches annual conference.  It's like a bunch of meetings and some worship.  Plus I have to fly and you have never done that.  I could not bare to know you were in the belly of a plane all alone."

"I think I can handle it.  Look if I take out a few things I can fit right in here.  And maybe you could just put me in the bag under your seat or I hear they have a safe place in the thing over your head."
"No Goose.  You will be just fine.  You are going to stay with Bert.  You two and all the other dogs at Bert's place will have a great time."
"Do you know who else is at Bert's?"

"Allred is there, ALLRED!"  I heard that yesterday Miss Vickie found a dead Ostrich behind the TV that Allred deaded.  An Ostrich!  What do you think he will do to your Goose?"
"Really, an Ostrich?  OK Goosey.  But you will be fine and you can call me every night."

No trip for me.  :(  Well I do get to go to Bert's.  I wonder if my favorite feline Nellie Bellie could tell-a-port over and talk to Allred.  I guess while MOM is gone, WITHOUT ME, I will help Bert with his blog.  Until my MOM returns, I think she'll be back in like 87 days.  Think of me friends and chew a stick and play, play, play.
Blessings,
Goose

  2. Hey Goose, I feel your pain! I have had my bags packed then received the same kind of message from my family, and ended up going over to stay with Bert -- and Allred. I always want my mom and dad to feel guilty for leaving me, so I plaster myself against the fence as they drive off, but end up having a pretty great time. There are so many friends over there that time flies by! You will have fun, but remember to look really tired and sad when you come home so your mom will feel guilty and give you extra treats and toys. It works like a charm every time.

By the way, my mom said your mom did a wonderful job officiating at her father's funeral today. She said she has a talent to say the right things and even made the congregation smile. You have a wonderful mom and she'll be home before you know it.

  5. Goose, I hate when my Mommy goes away, so I know how you feel, but you will have fun with Bert, I just know it. I would be so scared of Allred too, but maybe you can stick together and sleep with one eye open. Have fun and I hope your Mommy has a safe trip.

  11. You definitely know how to pack... looks like you have all the bases covered... from recreation to business... shame you can't go. But you'll have fun at Berts :) So that is a good concession.

Many prayers still for your mum and the coming days... I am glad she has something to keep her mind busy.

  14. I am also a big believer in prayer and I hope your trip is a safe one, and those that need you, will find their way to you.

Goose, you're going to have a wonderful time--I know your Mom is also like me in that when you can't be together, knowing you are having fun and getting the best of care is another answer to a prayer!

  15. You better keep a close eye on your stuffies while at Berts house. Allred might try and deaded some of 'em!! Paws crossed that time will fly by and your mom will be home before you know it!

  16. Oh Goose you are going to Allred's place! Really? Did he pull that face after he heard you were going or is that his usual happy demeanour???? Yikes.

Look just call your Mum every night as she suggested and try not to trip over the dead ostriches on the way to the phone.

At least your bag packing wasn't a waste of time because you can take it to Bert's place. Have fun, be brave.

  17. Dear MOM while I was absent I am so sorry I missed the post about your Dad. So very sorry, my condolences to you and your family.. xo

Now Goose, you will be fine at Bert's place. A change will do you good as Sheryl Crow might sing...

Sweet pictures of Goose trying to pack. Love it!

  18. Wait, what happened? My comment was deleted. Oh no. Goose, they're disappearing. I just shared the sentiment that you fit beautifully in the suitcase, but the belly of a plane isn't the best place for you. We know you and Bert will have a romping good time...maybe even a wild rumpus like in the book Where the Wild Things Are (since, you know, Allred will be around). ;)

    Happy seeing beautiful!

  19. Oh Goose, I know you'll have a pawsome time with Bert and all the gang that hangs out with him. You'll probably loose track of time and be surprised when your mom shows up to get you. Seriously, let us know how you are doing-you'll have a blast, I just know it.

  20. Hey Dude, don't you worry at all. My Vickie has a bed made up just for you and I plan on making sure that Allred picks on the new and unsuspecting guests who don't know anybetter. He has taken up a new hiding place and now he comes flying through the air at you from it. I'll let you in on where it is when you come so;s you don't get attacked. We'll have a good time buddy, I just know we will and besides, your mom isn't going for 87 gazillion days it is just for three days. Thats three sunsets, three sunrises and three trips to the park to play. That won't be so bad.
    See ya tomorrow
    Bert
PS, you better leave your toys at home cause, well you know, I kinda eat everything and Willa is a toy killer too.....

  21. Oh Goose, don't worry about Allred. he is a sweetheart if you leave him alone. I am sure you will have a blast with Bert and his other mates. I will be looking forward to reading about your adventures.

You look so cute when you were packing your bag.

  24. Woof to you Goose!!!! Like you, I am a chronic over-packer. Separately, your sneaky snake looks like he has recovered nicely and is as good as new! And while I have also never flown in the belly of a plane, I'm pretty sure that staying with Bert and his Vickie is way safer and a gazillion times more fun. Don't worry - your MOM will be back before you know it. Much love to you - XXOO - Mazzie

  25. Oh my dearest Goose - I'm sad with you because you'll miss your mom - but you stay with Bert - I wish I could do the same! and please take care, that he doesn't eat your toys... and our sweet Nellie-Bellie will hex Allred - so he should stay calm! I'll think of all of you Love Charlotte

  26. Safe travel wishes for MOM, but we are sorry things cold not have been such that you could have been with her. We are sending extra White Dog Army positive thoughts and strength hoping the time spent with your friends and talking to MOM every day will help the days fly by until she returns.

  27. Sorry Goose you didn't get to go with your mom, we still saying prayers for her.
We think you and Bert have so much fun together that time will just fly by. And Allred, we have read some crazy stuff about him, probably not worth chasing...just saying be careful

  28. Oh Goose ~ Our sympathies for you moms loss of her father. We are sure it was hard for her officiating his memorial service, but there has to be comfort in knowing she got to say words that really spoke from the heart about who he was.
Never pack your bags Goose unless you know you are going for sure.

  32. First, we are very sorry about your mom's dad! It must be a sad time for her!

Second, we are a bit worried about you staying with Allred! That's scary stuff! I'd send Morgan along to protect you, but I kind of like having her around to protect me. We'll be thinking about you and your mom and hoping she gets back before you have time to miss her!

And if she's back in time, maybe you can convince her to come over and give my mom some canine therapy while she's in Salt Lake City without us!

  33. Well, at least you have everything ready to take to Bert's. We would just suggest you watch out for Allred with all those great stuffies. If he did in an ostrich, we can't imagine what he would do with your goodies. Have lots of fun with all the pups at Bert's and tell Mom we wish her safe travels.

  38. Stay away from Allred Goose. it is the only safe thing to do. Safe travels to your Mom.

  39. We're sure you'll have more fun playing with Bert than you would sitting in boring meetings all day - or being shut in the hotel room for hours all alone. You and Bert can handle Allred, especially if you organize all the other doggies to help you. That's one way we doggies are so superior to kittehs - our pack support system. Have a nice visit!

  40. Your mom went somewhere?!? Without YOU?!?! That's ... that's just not right! My mom left the house today without me for a long, long time - I think I heard Dad mention an hour - and I missed her like crazy! Oh, sure, Dad was here. And Zim. But not my mom. It was horrible.
Your mom is going to be in Colorado? That's just next door to me. Tell her that if she needs a hug or anything to come over to Kansas and I'd be happy to deliver!
Have a blast at Bert's - and beware of Allred (no matter how nice Zim might think he is!)!!!
    Luv,
    Dave
