Last Day

The last day of me and MOM's stay at Bert's place finally came.  We made the most of it.  Let me show you.

When it got light outside MOM started to vacuum our play area.  I discovered something, all the other doggies don't like or are afraid of the vacuum.  I don't understand that.  Bert is torn, should he protect his ball or run.

The truth is my MOM has to push me with the vacuum to get me to move out of the way.  Sometimes even then I won't move and she just vacuums around me.

Now we are ready to play.  There were even two dogs there that was their first time at Canine Country Club.

Here is James Dean with one new guy Ryder.  Ryder is still a pup and this is also his first time being with other dogs (besides his litter mates).  It took a little while before he would play with us.

But then he realized this was going to be a great day with new friends.

We even taught him how to play with a ball.  Something else he has never done.

And this beautiful gal is Stella.  I am playing out that scene from that old Marlan Brando movie.  She now lives with James Dean.  She and I hit it off great.  Like me she has separation anxiety.  But she did great at daycare.

Bert was showing off how high he could get all four paws off the ground in one leap.  I tell ya the girls all fainted.  And Ryder was awe struck.

We played ball for hours!  Ryder learned a lot about ball from Bert the Master of the round orb.

Willa and Scrappy got tired just watching us.

Then me and MOM went to make sure the boarding guest had plenty of water in their pools.  This is Keni.

And this is his brother Kodiak.  I know what you are thinking, "Sibes liking the water?"  Well you would be wrong they LOVE the water.

Raj and Mystery taken it easy in the shade.  They are waiting for their pool to finish filling up.

I stopped by the small dog area to see my friend Buddy.  He always has a joke to tell me.  It must be a doxie thing.  They are very funny.

This is Harley.  You can't see it real good here but this guy has the coolest mustache and beard.

Best way to get a drink.

That soon turned in to water fun and Charlie and Gus wanted in on it.

Then it finally happened.  No, we did not duck tape Allred to a tree.  In fact I don't think I saw him all day.  But I did feel like I was being watched.  What happened was what Bert, Jamie, Abby, Willa, and Scrappy were hoping for.  And I gotta say all of us were hoping for.

Miss Vickie finally got home from Florida.  She smelled like suntan lotion and oranges.  Everydog wanted to greet her.  She didn't have enough hands to pet us all.

I was in charge of singing the welcome home song.  Yea, I nailed it.

While I had a blast helping at the Club while she was gone, what's even better is that she is back and all is right with the world.  And now my MOM can get that cup of coffee.  hehehhe

Blessings,
Goose

  11. I bet that was so much fun. Back when we lived in Missouri, we had a boarding kennel on our property. We also had two big play yards for the dogs with a great walking trail. I loved all the dogs that came to stay with us while their parents were on vacation. We were called Grandma and Grandpa to the dogs. Seeing this post made me really miss it, although we are just way to old to keep something like that up. Also I have two shih tzus, one loves the vacuum too and won't get out of my way, the other runs outside to hide!! Silly pups.

  12. It looks like you had a great time while staying at Bert's and I am sure Miss Vicki enjoyed her vacation. It is difficult for kennel owners to ever get away from the job. You and your mom are very nice to fill in like that.

  13. Hey Goose, Here in Hawaii, your name would be Nene-thought you'd like to know that. You and your mom are the bestest friends anyone could have-I know Ms.Vickie is mighty thankful for the time away. Wow, I still can't believe how wonderful you and your mom were to take over the kennel/daycare for her. Now life will get back to normal.
    Have a great day!

  15. You can tell that I'm a coffee addict based on the main thing that I can't get out of my head - you MOM waited all those days for a cup of coffee? Oh my....

The canine country club looks like the coolest place. Fun dogs to play with, pools, balls,... you name it. Your MOM sure did work hard to make sure that everything was perfect for everyone.

Ryder looks like fun little dude!

I saw that Bert says that you're getting a present. I can't wait to see it!

  20. OK, this post did it for sure. WE want to go to Bert's place now and help his Mom out. There is so much fun going on there. We had a pool like that once, but none of us would go in it. Maybe we need to take lessons from those two sibes.

Bet everypup was happy to see Miss Vickie arrive.
