Mo is Dead

My MOM has killed another one.  Mo is dead.  I cannot tell you how many lawn mowers my MOM has gone through in my life time.  It's not like she buys them from people headed for the recycle place to dispose of theirs.  These have been for the most part new mowers.  The mowers are well cared for and maintained.  But for some reason they all die young.  We have had Mo for about 3 1/2 years.  I think that was some kind of record.  For the last year Mo needed strategically place shoe laces to keep running to mow the whole yard.  On the last attempt this past Fall Mo made three swipes and then just died.  That was that.  Luckily MOM has some mighty fine friends who lent her their mower two weeks ago so she could cut the grass.  I held my breath that she would not kill her friends mower.  She gave theirs back with thanks.  But let's face it she cannot keep borrowing mowers all season and the grass never stops growing (we have to mow twice a week for more than half the season).  Off to the Home Depo we went.  I waited in the Blazer and when MOM came out she had a big box.  And here it is.

As you can see behind me the grass is tall.  My little friend Cooper, the Doxie, would get lost in there.  He could be here now and I would not know it.  The first time MOM mowed the yard almost two weeks ago it was so tall it took her twice as long (4 hours).

I guess I know where we will be going for a walk tomorrow.  But that's OK I like to walk beside MOM as she mows.  There is something about walking every inch of your yard.

Is this what they call a "Riding Mower"?

Goodbye to Mo the 6th.  Hello Mo the 7th.
Blessings,
Goose

  20. Woof to you Goose!!!! I had no idea that you and MOM spent so much time doing yard work. As much as I would love to have a lawn to play in, I don't think I would enjoy mowing it one bit. Since I don't like the vacuum cleaner, I don't think I'd care for a lawn mower. I trust you will keep a careful eye on Mo the 7th. Much love - XXOO - Mazzie

  25. That is quite funny! I love the last picture......"riding lawn mower". Our mom got tired of our "Mo" so she hired "Mo the man" to take of our yard. Now every Thursday we have to be locked in the house while she's at work becuz that's when "Mo the man" comes. We hate Thursday's
