Allred, Sneaky Snake and Duck Tape

So there we all were at Bert's place just kicked back enjoying the evening, barking stories, passing the Cheetos and bottled water around (Miss Vickie's is a beer free zone), barking out loud and just having the best time.  Sweet Jamie telling us stories of her SAR days.  Scrappy and Abby telling us of their days on the street before Miss Vickie came along.  Willa with her tale of being left in a crate out side the daycare.  There were stories of squirrel chases, hole digging, my encounters with six skunks last year, toilet paper roll fun, counter surfing. The barking and the Cheetos flowed freely.  But we never saw what was about to happen.
Like a bat of of Hell, or should I say a cat out of Hell, Allred swooped into our K-9 party and grabbed Sneaky Snake and took him to his outlook.

Oh no my Sneaky Snake in Allreds lair.

I tried to talked to Sneaky to see what his involvement in all this was.  But then I noticed his tongue was gone!  Had Allred ripped it out to keep him quiet? Was Sneaky Snake in alliance with Devil Cat or was he just a pawn in Allred's plan?  And what is Allred's plan?  If I could only somehow get Allred held down I could get Sneaky back.  Then I remembered I packed the duck tape, cuz as my friend Puddles tells me Duck tape can fix anything.
Bert said he would get it out of my bag but he was not going to help me tape Allred down.  "Dude I have to live with him" he said.  In fact I was on my own, no dog wanted to help me.  Can't say I blame them, I didn't even want to help me.
Do any of you have any idea how hard it is to duck tape a cat?  I do not recommend it.  First my paws got all kinds of stuck to the tape, then my tail.  While I was trying to un-stick it from me and stuck to Allred every thing went black.

I don't know what hit me.  All I remember was the sound of tearing tape and evil laughter.

But how did his furry paws not get stuck to the tape?  Did, indeed, Sneaky Snake cross over to Allred's side and lend a scaly tail to help tape me up?  This whole duct tape thing is not going how I planed.  Out of my one eye I could see out of, I could not see my friends.  All I could think was I hope they all got out alive, or at least tape free.  So this is how it ends, me, Goose, duck taped.  Some how I thought it all would end differently.  Not that I have given that much thought but I can tell you this, I never thought my ending would involve duck tape and a cat.
But then there was something wrapped around my head.  What next......

It was Sneaky!!! Was he there to finish me off?  Oh why Sneaky, why?

But no, he wasn't there to finish me, he started to take the tape off!  I knew that my snake buddy would never betray me.  OK I had my doubts, but they quickly vanished as he gently pulled the tape from my face.
I wish Sneaky could tell me what happened, but with out his tongue I guess I will never know.

All I know is he is smiling and that's good enough for me.

Sneaky made some new friends later that day.  He even gave Willa a ride, or is a slide.

And he rested with sweet Jamie.

Bert was still a little upset about the whole thing so he laid on his bed and held on tight and closed his eyes.  But I guess I might be worried too.  I mean most of us get to go home soon.  But Bert, well Bert has to stay there with Devil Cat.

But Sneaky Snake assured Bert that if he ever needed him he would be there in a flash.
I guess there are many morels to this story.  One- wear gloves when handling duck tape so it don't stick to your furs.  Two- never under estimate the craftiness of a cat.  And three and most important- your friends will always come though for you in the end.
As for Allred, we have not seen him since.  But just in case I had MOM lock away the duck tape.

Blessings,
Goose

  9. Woof to you Goose!!!! Well, that certainly was a "sticky" situation with Allred and your Invincible Snake. I'm glad that you emerged relatively unscathed (sorry that I can't say the same for your Invincible Snake) and I hope that you don't have any bald spots after removing all of that duct tape. I think I may need to come down there and teach Allred a lesson.... Much love - XXOO - Mazzie
