MOM's Time Away

Hello Friends

Well my MOM finally came home from Colorado.  It seemed like FOREVER that she was gone.  If you did not know she went to Colorado to officiate her good friend, Handi Jo's renewal of wedding vows to her husband Jeff.  My MOM and Handi met when my MOM took her kids to a church dance at Handi's church where she was a pastor.  Handi had brought her dog Bailey to the dance.  He was just a wee little pup.  When he saw my MOM he barely left my MOM's side.  From that moment on my MOM and Handi Jo have been very good friends.  That was 17 years ago.  So when Handi and Jeff wanted to renew their vows they ask my MOM to do it.  While I missed my MOM very much I knew that she had to go.  It is what friends do for each other.  Handi and Jeff have a dog named Abby and Abby loves my MOM too and she loved on my MOM the whole time she was there.  So I have two videos for you the first is a few photos from the wedding.

How cool is that a wedding in the mountains of Colorado with Pikes Peak in the background.  Did you see Abby, she was the ring bearer.  I liked how she kissed my MOM at the altar when she gave my MOM the rings.

After all the wedding festivities were done MOM and Joann and Dave (Handi and Jeff's good friends from where we live) took a little trek up Pikes Peak.

How beautiful is that?!!!  Wish I could of gone on that hike.  The photos of the deer with it's baby is just amazing.  MOM saw the momma deer and she had just given birth to her little fawn.  The photos I showed you are of the momma cleaning off her baby.

I am glad my MOM is back home.  And thanks Abby for taking care of my MOM for me.
Blessings,
Goose

PS!!!!  Turn in tomorrow as Abby shows my buddy Bert how to bring back and give up a ball to be thrown again.

  3. Goose that was a wonderful event. If I will find a girl I would like such a wedding too. (and you are invited of course). I have no clue why my mom sniffs and why she wiped off tears, I mean, it's a post about joy and good things... sometimes humans are crazy...

It's good that someone like her took care of your MOM for you. And the second video - SUCH BEAUTY!!! Mom has a "thing" for Prairie Dogs so she liked that part best.

  12. From Abbey Grace:
Goose it was my pleasure to take care of your Mom. I know I miss my family when they have to go away. I am truly grateful that you let your Mom come to Colorado. Because my Mom has been battling illness for 3 years, Mom & Dad felt that it was important to renew their wedding vows now instead of waiting. They have learned a lot about living life to the fullest and not waiting. My Mom had her dress preserved so it looked like the day they got married, but they had to take it in a lot. My sisters sang "Grow Old With Me" one of the last for songs written by John Lennon it was so beautiful it made us all cry. I was soooo tired after the day. But it was exciting to be a Ring Bearer/Flower Girl and wearing the veil wasn't bad at all. I felt dressed up for a very special day. When I was hot, I went and laid under my mom's long train in the shade.
Goose, I still pray for your daily (so does my family)
    Love,
Abbey Grace (my first name has and e before the y and Baily didn't have an e in his name, just for future reference)

    xoxo

  16. Hi Goose,

I'll bet you're glad your mom is back. I really miss Bella when I have to go somewhere and leave her home. The videos are great - what a beautiful wedding. I love that their dog participates in the ceremony - with kisses for everybody.

What is the little creature in the second video, before the deer, at about 25 seconds? He is very cute, standing up and surveying his part of the world. We don't have those where I live.

Take good care of your mom, dear Goose.

    Love,
Ruthie and Bella the Rat Terrier Princess (neither of whom writes in our blog;-)
