A few days ago I showed you my favorite tree. It's a cherry tree. My MOM loves the cherries that the tree gives us. The thing is, the birds like them too. So much so that last year my MOM only got 2, that's TWO cherries from our three trees! What is a MOM to do? I'll tell ya what she did and at first it about scared the furs right off me.
Check this out. This is suppose to make birds think something with big eyes is watching them. All I know is I like to watch it. BUTT I could not help butt feel I was being watched. Have you ever had that feeling?
I think there is something up there. Do you see anything?
OMD OMD! Is that what I think it is?
From this angle it looks, it looks, it looks like a SNAKE!
From here it looks like a a a rattlesnake!
OMD I can't look. I can't look! My training tells me that I should run away.
Butt wait........ It does not smell like a rattlesnake. TRUST ME I know what a rattlesnake smells like. I have been up close and personal with a few.
Ha Ha, then MOM told me it was not a real snake. She put it in the tree to keep the birds away from the cherries. Oh that MOM of mine. She can be a crack up. Although she almost gave me a heart attack.
Well I hope it works. It sure scared me at first.

ReplyDeleteOMD at first I also thought it was real and got scared you had forgotten all that training, the way stuck your schnoz right in at it... then I breathed again!!! Cherries are well worth defending &*> hugs & wags, YAM-aunty xxx
OMD We don't know if those THINGYS will Scare BIRDS away from the trees.... butt we Do know that WE wouldn't be going NEAR them. THOSE are almost as scary as .... ALLRED is.
ReplyDeletehahahaha and I thought the snakes only protect apple trees :o) My mom made a bird-bugbear once with an ole can and a waxed string. Unfortunately this time her diy-project was a success and the noise of that thingy drove me crazy ...oh and the birds enjoyed our cherries anyway :o) I will write a beautiful post on friday, of course I will look for beautiful things around me :o)
ReplyDeleteThat snake would certainly keep us away :) Bird netting over the tree would also help
ReplyDeletethat is a scary snake and eye thingy, i do hope it works. out of hundreds of avocados on our tree, we got 6 last year. this year the squirrels and raccoon are eating the tiny ones, so we will get none
