Workin' With MOM

Hello Friends.

I'm one blessed pup.  I get to go to work with my MOM a lot.  Not as much as I would like, but I know I get to go more than most dogs do.  I do go enough that I am listed on the STAFF page of our churches pictorial directory.  I do a whole lot there.  I am the security guard.  My MOM gets there pretty early in the morning, about 3 hours before anyone else.  So I make sure she is safe.

I take up my post in her office.  Don't mistake this as sleeping on the job.  I am on stealth alert.

One of my other jobs is vole patrol.  Ridding the church grounds of any voles that nibble and eat up at the plant roots.

Sometimes my gal pal Belle joins me in vole patrol.  We make an unstoppable team.  She's not just another pretty face.

I also lend a paw to help my MOM write sermons, Sunday school lessons for the youth and other stuff she writes.  I guess you could say I am my MOM's "Goose" writer.

One of my most important job is making sure my MOM takes me outside.  It's not for me so much, but I make sure she takes time to smell the flowers.  That is very important to being productive and creative.

I also am a greeter to those who come to the church.  See that super nice lady on the left?  That's my friend Cindy.  Whenever she comes to the church she always gives me my favorite bone.  Yea this job has it's perks.

Even when I am outside on patrol, I always check every so often what is going on inside the office, just in case I am needed.

It's getting late and I think it is almost time to go home.  Just one more patrol of the grounds to make sure every thing is secure.

When we get home MOM puts a blanket on me and lets me take a little snooze while she finishes up some work.  Yea it's a tough and tiring job.  But I would have it no other way.  The best part is I get to spend that time with my MOM and I like to think that I am a big help.  I will end as I started, I am one blessed pup.
Blessings,
Goose

  29. You and your MOM are very very lucky, to have each other.

Gotta say - I didn't know that a church needed so much patrolling :) Perhaps you are patrolling to made sure that no treats go uneaten!

When I taught at a college, I used to bring my dog to work. She made the students so relaxed when they came to my office for advice. It was wonderful. Just like you and your mom.

  31. Very clever post, Goose! I love that you are a Goose writer and a protector of the premises from those darned voles! The fact that you get up 3 hours before your mom does means you are very serious about your job and I think you should get a raise! Maybe some extra treats or extra walks would be a good payment increase? Have a great day!
