Pupdate

Hello Friends.

As you know I was pretty sick and spent Sunday at the ER.  And even though they seemed to think I was knocking on deaths door they let MOM take me home.

MOM I don't feel so well.

Blah.

But at least I am home with you.  And I can lay down again without the world spinning around me.  Then...

Morning dawned and it was a brand new day.

What a beautiful world.

Hey MOM lets go outside and play.  I feel fine.

First let me pause a moment and thank all of you for your good vibes, thoughts and prayers.  I have no doubt they played a roll in me feeling better.

But before MOM would come out to play she said she had to do the ironing.

I help.  It is my job to hold down the ironed clothes.  Yea I'm a pro. Been doing this for over 12 years now.

OK MOM laundry is done and other house stuff.  Can we play now?
I don't know Gooeee.  I think you should still rest.

If you don't play with me now, I am going to hold my breath until you do or I turn blue.

Haha.  Works every time.

Grrrrrr.  Cheeto you will be mine.  MOM can't hold on that long now that I have my strength back.
Blessings,
Goose

NOTE FROM MOM:  Goose is doing better.  He saw his regular vet on Monday and he has no idea either what was wrong with Goose.  Dr. Eddie looked Goose over and reviewed Gooses chart from the ER and he agreed that Goose was in a very bad way.  But they have no idea what the problem was, what caused it, or even why Goose is better. It's a mystery.  I'm just glad that he is better and continues to improve.  He's my furry miracle.  Thank you all again for your concern and prayers.  We greatly appreciate it and felt comforted during this whole thing.

  20. Good grief Goose. What a scare you and your Mom both had. So glad you are feeling better! :) I googled high potassium levels and found some interesting information on LiveStrong and PetMD. These links may provide some insight/talking points for your vet that you may not have already had.

  21. This is wonderful, a miracle! If you can make such a funny face, you feel really well! I think your mom and we would be really relieved if you got a diagnosis and effective treatment! This thing should not happen again, it was too scary! There might be some connection with your bleeding nose some weeks ago and this event - that remained unclarified, didn't it?

  22. Oh Gooseberry! I'm so glad you're feeling better. You had me really worried there. Your Momma must feel such a relief. I gotta say buddy, you cracked me up with the holding your breath thingy! LOL! Stay well my friend! :)

  41. Oh Goose, I'm SO relieved you're feeling better! I was really worried about you. Power of the paw really works! Maybe you should relieve your momma's anxiety and confess about your eating something you weren't supposed to. A lot of human vitamins and stuff can really play wonky on our systems, but they're so tempting when they fall right on the floor!

  52. I totally empathize - I had a very similar experience with my little 6 year old chi-terrier mix recently. One Friday when I got home from work she was absolutely fine, ate as usual, but then all of a sudden a couple of hours later, I looked at her and she was crouched down, wouldn't move, just staring at me in fear, and was struggling to breathe. I grabbed her up and drove the 20 miles to the ER. They did all kinds of tests - she also started having dreadful diarrhea there - and though there were some slightly weird blood readings, could never really say what was wrong. She was there until Sunday, and I was soooooo scared; I would take over homemade chicken and rice, and she wouldn't touch it. And she was just so pitiful and weak. Our best guess is she might have eaten something bad in the yard. Anyway, $1,400 later, she was back to normal! Glad you're better, too, Goose!

  54. So happy to hear Goose is doing better! That must have been so scary for you! The high potassium level made me think immediately of Addison's Disease, and I'm sure your vet has already considered that or ruled it out. I hope Goose continues to improve!
