Bert's new yard is complete.
And here it is.
Where once there were rock, sand, pee gravel, and such, now, because of his rock eating obsession, he now plays in the concrete jungle.
Miss Vickie saved his last two rocks and now they are imbedded in the concrete. I suggested she write these words around those rocks, "Here lies Bert's rocks, better them than him."
And that's the truth my friends.
Sure now he lives and plays in the concrete jungle, but he lives, plays, and he shares his jungle with all his brothers and sisters and the many many pups and dogs that come to Canine Country Club. And you see that dog right in front of Bert? That's Madi. Although Miss Vickie won't confirm this, I think Madi will soon be one of Bert's siblings AND we all think she is going to make a terrific therapy dog. And speaking of therapy....
Bert went back to work at the Salt Lake International Airport, bringing comfort and smiles to passengers and staff.
Blessings,Michelle
ps..... I still have not decided how to proceed with Gooses blog. I hope to have an answer soon. Normally on my birthday weekend Goose and I would go backpacking in the mountains somewhere. We loved sharing the beauty of our incredible mountains together. Since Goose is no longer with me in the flesh I have decided to spend this birthday weekend in the desert for several days. This will be an adventure and challenge to be sure (I happen to be very fond of water). I'm hoping for several things, one of those things is how to proceed with Gooses Blog. Thank you all for your continued support. I still enjoy visiting your blogs (even if I don't comment, I know what Goose would say but find it difficult to be me and not him, does that make sense?)
Well, we hope that one part of your future blog will be a weekly visit with Bert. We love to see him. Otherwise, blog ideas will come...
ReplyDeleteMum and I really hope that you do keep up a blog. I am not sure if you know that I (Cody's successor) now have a blog and mum and I are really enjoying reading everyone's comments. I am also enjoying your visits with Bert.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your birthday weekend.

Oh! Bert <3 So glad he is feeling better. We understand what you means ... hope you can still join us this month for See Beautiful. Sending you Lots of Golden Love <3
ReplyDeleteIt makes perfect sense, but I love that you are keeping up with the blog. I love reading about Bert and his crew, since unless I am missing them I don't think Miss Vickie blogs much anymore. I miss knowing what Bert is up to so coming here and learning about him is so great. I am sure Goose would be happy for that, Goose was always happy. I don't think leaving comments is always the most important thing. Just knowing we are out there and touching each other in some way is what really matters, at least that is what I think. I hope you have a wonderful and safe journey and I know Goose will be there floating above you every step of the way.

You have been in our thoughts! We do love hearing and seeing all about Bert's adventures as I think Vickie said she had internet issues and isn't able to blog much anymore. So, for now, we sure do love hearing whatever it is you feel like talking about. Blessings to you and thank goodness Bert now had a concrete jungle to play in!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the desert, Michelle. We will be thinking of you.

ReplyDeleteOh Bert - I love the 'imprint'!!!
Michelle, I am sure the time in the desert will assist your adjustment to life after Goose... As you gather, Blogville would feel very sorry if you left us but would also completely understand.
That said, you are doing rather a wonderful job of filling that gap between Bert/Miss Vickie and Blogville and I was wondering if, perhaps, they needed a 'secretary'.... The way forward will reveal itself to you. Hugs, YAM xx
Crikey ..... who cares HOW you proceed ..... just as long as you DO proceed!!! that's all we care about, aye?? AND as for not commenting because you aren't Goose and don't know what to say unless you are Goose .... who cares!! We know you're there!! You and Goose gave us so much .... now it's our turn to give, aye?? You'll find the right way!! The desert will be good for you ..... take care!!!
ReplyDeletethe desert sounds wonderful and i am sure the answer will come when it is time.. so glad Bert can play outside now and all the other pups to.

I imagine that while you are in the desert, good old Goose will let you know how to proceed with the blog. Maybe you just need to continue on as yourself and teach us how to see the Beautiful like Goose did so many times. I sure hope you can find a way to stay...I always love your posts.

Thanks for showing us the labor of love that is Bert's new yard. I love the burying of the evil rocks in the concrete!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the desert. There is water in the desert, and it's even more precious than in the mountains :)
I, for one, hope that you continue to blog in some way. I love reading the words you write and feeling your love of life through those words. It's one of my favorite blogs... (not to put any pressure on you :)
Happy Birthday. Goose will be with you on your birthday weekend, as part of your heart.
Hi Y’all!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted you to know that I'm still givin' licks and wags whenever you need them...
We are enjoying reading about your adventures and Bert and the gang, who we've come to know so well thanks to Goose.
Maybe someday a pup will stare at you and tell you he/she needs you...and then you can redirect Goose Gospel. Until then please stay with us.
In the meantime Goose is running beside you, looking after you and loving you still.
We're all wishing you a beautiful birthday weekend.
I’ve relocated to www.browndogcbr.net. There is a link on http://browndogcbr.blogspot.com .
Hope y’all come to my new home. I’m still workin’ on it. You need to click the title to find a spot to comment.
Y’all hurry on by now!
Hawk aka BrownDog
Glad to see that Bert is now safely protected from all those evil rocks! And a sibling for Bert, huh?!? Wow! That could be totally cool! Enjoy your birthday in the desert - always a good place for reflection and the Thinking of Deep Thoughts.
