Blogville we have rock!!!! Late afternoon on Thursday Bert passed the rocks. He will NOT have surgery. WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOO.
I stopped by Bert's place to see how he was doing.
I gave thanks for a successful out come.
Bert however seemed to be concerned about one thing.....
He wanted me to play ball with him. He acts like nothing ever happened.
I guess there is a lesson in that. For Bert life goes on even after he spent days miserable and in pain. Miserable and in pain because of his own actions. Yet he dusts himself off and says "Hey lets play ball!" Of course we all hope he has learned his lesson and lays off the rocks.
"Hey everyone THANK YOU from me and My Vickie. I just know all the POTP, prayers and good vibes you sent helped. I know that it sure helped My Vickie feel better and much cared about. I am going to do my very best to leave the rocks where they lay."
Blessings,
Michelle

Bert I am so happy to read this. Please Please don't eat any more rocks! We love you so much and don't want you to go through so much pain. Just please get some rest and no more rocks.

Wow, what a relief!
ReplyDeleteDidn't you guys do rattlesnake aversion training once? It worked, right? Could that help? I mean, you couldn't get Bert to turn tail and run from rocks since you do search and rescue, but maybe there's a way it could assist with training? Perhaps KB from the Rockies could assist - she seems well-versed in training and used shock aversion because her previous dog liked to chase coyotes, if I recall correctly. I know she found it hard to come to terms with but it was another life-threatening tendency which needed to be nipped in the bud!
Best of luck. Feel better soon to both Bert and his Vickie.
Thanks Michelle for keeping us updated.
P.S. Excuse me - I know I don't know your specific situation or even you personally, so I apologise if I came across as another random on the Internet offering some treatment I heard about once upon a time! Just offering a suggestion that I thought might help in case it hasn't been suggested already. Bert seems like such a special dog, we want him to live a long and - even more - fulfilling life! I also like the suggestion of carrying a stuffie so you know when he'll go for the dreaded rock!
DeleteOh Melon, we love your advice and you are right we got in touch with KB first thing for help. She gave My Vickie an excellent suggestion (I'm not that happy about it but My Vickie is all over the internet ordering the answer) So please dont stop giving advice cause My Vickie is great ful for suggestions from everyone........
DeleteThankyou for understanding, Bert and Vickie! I looked back and realised it could seem like a very harsh and unpalatable suggestion to anyone, but I'm glad you understood it in the spirit it was meant. I don't know myself if I could do that to my beloved pet but I know sometimes we hoomans must do what is best for our beloved furfriends. (Sorry about whatever your peep is ordering, Bert, but I'm glad to know how much she loves you that she is willing to do whatever it takes to help you out!) Best of luck to all of you in sorting out this problem.

ReplyDeleteBert I'm so super happy with you... and I agree to act like nothing ever happened is a fabulous way... think only we animals can do that, right? Have tons of fun while playing with your ball :o)

Hi Y'all,
ReplyDeleteSo happy all those crossed paws worked for you Bert.
Not sure how you're going to live in those mountains and not get a hold of a rock. You are a silly boy Bert and if anything happens to you how are you ever going to take care of Rev Michelle and your Miss Vickie? You will really really disappoint Goose if you show up in Heaven before your time!
Hawk aka BrownDog
Hey Hawk, Boy am I getting it from all ends these days. So what is the big deal, I eat rocks......well that is what I thought, but now My vickie is doing everything she can to keep me from eating more rocks. She is turning my front yard into a big ole pile of cement. She calls it my patio. hmmmm and then the worst part of all is SHE ORDERED A MUSSLE for me to wear when ever I go hiking. A MUZZLE....what the heck is that all about. I'll keep you posted on these developments, most likely through my friend Miss Michelle and Gooses Blog, but who knows, maybe My Vickie will have more time to go back and do my blog, now that she has spent all her money on my patio. She says we most likely will be homebound for a while.....
DeleteHappy wooooooo!!!
ReplyDeleteNukNuk
We have gotten terribly behind commenting on blogs - but we were following Bert's saga on FB. (We tapped into Mom's account.) BERT! You must not eat any more rocks!!! I'm not one to say this under normal circumstances .. .. but SOMETIMES you must listen to the bipeds! This is one of those times!!!
ReplyDeleteNow stop scaring everyone. We all care about you way too much for this!
Cammie
PS: Please lick your Vickie's face and Goose's MOM's face for me, OK? Thanx.
