Well
my friends my time has come. At 1PM
Monday I made my journey over the Rainbow Bridge. My MOM was there to help be make this last
journey. Miss Vickie was there too and
my MOM’s dear friend Cindy. I was
surrounded by lots and lots of love.
There
are now words to express how much each of you have meant to me. You shared your lives with me and I was a
much better dog because of it. What a journey
we have had, am I right?
My
parting words to you is this: Live each day to the fullest, for it is a
gift. Love often, growl less. Take time to smell the roses. Let those who surround you know they are
loved. Life is beautiful my friends, so
see it, share it, create it. Oh and this
one last thing, STICKS!!!! If you see a
stick in need do me a favor, help it out.
To
my buddy Bert: Bert I am counting on you to help take care of my MOM. She is going to need a fluffy Golden boy like
you to hold on to for a little bit.
To
my MOM: MOM I have loved you from the moment you walked past me trying not to
notice me. It was fate, God’s will that
we were meant to be together. For 15
years you have been my everything. No
doggie could have asked for a more loved, blessed and beautiful life. I will miss you dearly, butt know I will be
watching over you for as long as you walk this earth until that day we are
reunited. I love you MOM with everything
I am.
Until
we meet again my friends.
Blessings,
Goose

Yes they are tears, lots of tears. But they are not just tears of sadness but tears of overwhelming joy for all the beautiful years we had together. Thank you gain for all your love and support.
Dear Michelle,
ReplyDeleteI know there are no words at this time that can help heal your broken heart. If you are lucky, time will allow a scar to form so it isn't so broken. Thank you for sharing your Goose with us. He was clearly a wonderful boy. He reminded us all to count our blessings and to see the beauty in life. Take care of yourself and know we are all thinking of you.
Kristen for Hailey and Zaphod
Such a lovely post, Michelle. Please know that so many of us are thinking of you and remembering Goose with love. His courage and wisdom will remain with us and we are the better for having known him through this blog. Bless you as you grieve this wonderful boy.

It is so hard to write through the tears - Goose was and always will be such a special boy to all of us - he made us smile and bought us all joy and we are all going to miss him so much. We are sending the biggest hugs ever to you Michelle.
ReplyDeleteDear Michelle,
ReplyDeleteThank you for loving Goose so much that at this very sad time you came to the computer to let us know. Our precious, handsome Goose had made his journey to the Rainbow Bridge.
Goose if you can hear me, I surely know what you mean about loving Michelle from the moment she passed by you. As soon as we saw your soulful eyes, gorgeous furs, and read your inspirational messages on Sunday and about your hilarious antics and obsession with sticks.... we knew we loved you too.
Run free over the bridge. I'm pretty sure there are sticks there waiting to be loved by you.
Michelle your love and devotion to Goose was obvious in every picture and every single word you wrote. You gave him an incredible journey on this earth. Your love
for him guided you when it was time for him to take his next journey.
Take care of yourself. In time I hope you can think of him without so much hurt and remember his funny, crazy side and you a can smile.
You both inspired me to be a better person....
With love and hugs
Madi and Cecilia
Thanks for sharing Goose with us, prayers for comfort and peace for you & yours, gentle woooos,
ReplyDeleteNukNuk & Family
When we think of Goose there are so many things that come to mind. We have told you before that had it not been for Goose and the blog that we would never have found a furever home with our pawrents. It is true, not just words. We remember the very furst time we met Goose and what he said to us. He said, "Get out of my face boys." Yes, it's true. We were jumping all over his face like crazy. We didn't know any better. BUTT the thing we wanted to tell you today was that we are thinking about a book mom once read called "A Dog's Purpose". It was about how dogs are born over and over until they find their purpose in life. We know that the greatest thing would be to find our purpose and there is no doubt that Goose found his. OK, maybe it was a bit of a team effort. For any dog to touch even half the number of people that Goose touched would be an honor. So we are thankful for Goose and will honor his life by being the best dogs we can and taking his advice.
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley

ReplyDeleteThe whole world loved you Goose and you will live in hearts and minds forever. Love and hugs to the Mom from all of us.
ReplyDeleteDear Michelle, my heart is so full for you - but also is breaking. It's full of joy because of the love-filled life you gave to Goose - and that he gave right back. It's full of beauty, as you and Goose always reminded us to see all the beauty around us. It's full of love for all of God's creations and for special bonds. It's breaking, too, though, because I understand the void his absence is leaving in your life. There is a reason for it, and God will let you know what that is in His time. And I KNOW you and Goosie will be together again, when God calls you Home as well. In the meantime, God must have had a lot of sticks in Heaven that needed saved. He's got Goose to help with that now.
ReplyDeleteKnow that you are loved and that we all are here for you.

ReplyDeleteDearest Goose,
ReplyDeleteIt has been very hard for us to even comment. Every time we start, we begin to weep and the tears make our paws slip on the keys. We have loved Goose with every fiber of our being and wish we could have met you in person instead of just in our imagination. But our imagination has given us a gift of sharing a little of ourselves with yous. Mes will be honored to meets you over the bridge and can finally feel the softness of your furs against mine and the beat of your heart against mine.
Dearest Michelle, wes sends yous our love, strength and courage.

Run free, dear Goose.
ReplyDeleteI am so very sorry for your loss. (((Hugs)))
The White Dog Army had a celebration of sticks for you today, dear friend. We rescued sticks from the yard and our walks. Some we polished with our teeth as we told them about you. Others we hid in special places. We send peace to you and your MOM.

ReplyDeleteHi Y'all!
ReplyDeleteJust stoppin' back, lettin' you know that Goose is in our thoughts, but you, "Mom" are in my Humans' prayers. Goose is safe with friends in the green fields on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge, but you "Mom" are alone on that Rocky Road called Life. We know your friends, both pawed and footed, are keeping you close and giving you comfort, but right now we know how alone and empty it is without Goose by your side.
As Goose would say "Blessings".
Hawk aka BrownDog
Goose has been such an inspiration, he will be so missed. Run free over the bridge Goose. Peace and healing to your loved ones. Prayers as they adjust to this life without you.
ReplyDeleteMichelle, my heart is breaking, so I can only imagine your grief :( Goose always loved the outdoors, so this poem reminds me of him:
ReplyDeleteDo not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die...

Godspeed, Goose.

I am still trying to find the words and still fighting the tears and heartbreak. We will be forever grateful and blessed for knowing Goose and you for letting us be a part of your lives. Goose enriched our lives, he taught us so many things and we will never forget that. He was definitely one of a kind.
ReplyDeletePuddles, to this day and always will wear the Beautiful tag you sent to her. It will always be close to her heart.
There are just so many things I want to say but i just can't right now...the words just won't come. Just know we will never forget Goose...he will always be in our hearts.

Dear Michelle,
ReplyDeleteI think of you and Goose, and pray for you, and cry for you, daily. I pray for strength, and for the grief process to pass as quickly as possible. It will take time, just time and lots of talking. We hope that whatever your process is, that it works for you. When I lost my dear Elizabeth after 15 years, I relied on the APLB.org. They are wonderful folks and have online chat rooms for folks who have lost their furry family members. They made all the difference for me.
Praying for peace for you:-)
XOXO
