OK OK OK. I can barely contain myself! OK OK, OH KAAAAY! Let me start from the beginning. There MOM and I were hanging out at home Monday. I wondered why we were not out playing or hiking or something. She said we had to stay at home because she was suppose to get a delivery and it was important. A gift for me I thought. But she said "no, it's for our friend and as soon as it gets here we have to then ship it to them." It all seemed confusing to me, but whatever. Then my MOM went to the basement.
I almost never go down to the basement. The stairs are narrow an much steeper than this photo shows. But I thought something was happening, but I could not pin point it. MOM carried up a little box and then went to the garage and brought in a little bit bigger box from the Blazer. I was intrigued, what was this all about. I sniffed and sniffed the two boxes. What was inside? Then MOM opened the bigger of the boxes and Oh My Dog look what she pulled out!!!
A TREE!!
My very own Christmas tree!! I kissed and licked and licked it. I have a Christmas tree! But wait, it gets even more miraculous. A lady at our church gave MOM something for me. Her name is Jan. You must know this: MOM is very strict about opening gifts before Christmas. We just don't do it.
So imagine my surprise (see the look on my face) when she hung up my gift from Jan. My very own Christmas Stocking!!
Just look how beautiful it is. It even smells like Christmas!
I was so excited I wanted to hold it, and check what was inside of it. But MOM said I would have to wait until Christmas before there would be stuff in it. But that is OK, I can wait. I mean I have a tree and a stocking!
Oh and I can not forget all the wonderful cards I have received.
Card Count
Goose- 76
MOM- 11
Both- 6
These totals include all interweb cards.
While I love love all my cards I wanted to point this one out to you. This is from my very sweet friend Nellie from Cat from Hell. Isn't it just beautiful. I could look at it all day.
And she sent me a photo of me and her of when she telaported over to my place in her magic tunnel to visit me. I had MOM put this special picture in one of my special frames so when I sit on the couch I can look over and see me and Nellie. And now the biggest miracle of the day for me (as if the tree and stocking were not enough). MOM opened up the little box she brought up from the basement. When she did she got a few tiny tears in her eyes.
Then she hung these six ornaments on my tree and put Santa Paws next to the tree.
My friends, these ornaments have not seen the light of day for 30 years (that's more than twice as old as me). They belonged to my MOM's Grannymom. Granny gave them to my MOM before she went to the Rainbow Bridge (MOM was only 16). MOM said that Grandpa made them for Grannymom. There is a Santa Mouse and the other five are Moose doing different stuff like hanging in the center of Joy, riding a train, sittin' in a sled, decorating a tree, and sittin' in a porch swing with a heart over them. Then MOM went outside to the pine tree cut a few branches and put them around my tree. Then we just sat back on the couch and looked at it for a long time and she told me all about Grannymom. Miracles are beautiful.
I was not the only dog to receive a Christmas Miracle Monday. Click HERE to see Bert's Christmas Miracle. Miracles are all around us. Sometimes you can't miss them other times (most times) all we have to do is open our heart and what you find is that beautiful miracles are everywhere. Don't get so caught up in the hustle and bustle that you overlook them or worse yet, step on them.
Blessings,
Goose

ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing day. The spirit of Christmas all over the place. Your card wall is amazing! Your mom might have to add something to her Sunday message about the importance of sending your pastor a Christmas card. That would be TOTALLY wrong, but maybe her only chance to catch-up.

And that she told you all about her Grannymom was even better because those stories are meant to be shared, not hidden away in darkness. We bet your mom felt extra good that she shared those things with you. And to top it off you have a stocking? You never had one before? We are so glad you have one!
