Monday my MOM and I went to St. Anne's Homeless Center do drop off some donations and to help out a little bit. When we got there we heard a dog barking and whining. MOM asked what was up. Well it seems that this dog had been hanging out at the shelter for more than a day, but no one could catch him.
Then when Grace (remember her?) walked into the shelter this dog followed her in. The lovely Nona held him and saw he had a tag on his collar so she called the "owner" SIX times. Then she put him in the donation room to keep him safe and warm.
Of course my MOM could not resist going in there to pet him and talk to him. He was real sweet. But you could tell that he was NOT well cared for, he was way skinny and he had a cut on his back paw and he was scared. The "owner" never called, so St. Anne's had to call the animal shelter. My MOM waited with Boyd (that's what my MOM named him).
My MOM sat with him in the donation room until the animal shelter people came. Doesn't his little whine make you tear up? He just got in my MOM's lap and liked being petted and talked too. We plan on going to the animal shelter on Tuesday to check on him and to bring him one or two of my toys and some treats.
Now for an update on the card count:
Goose- 56
MOM- 8
Both- 4
Cheeto is hang up there isn't he?
That is one crazy monkey.
"Come on Cheeto let me help you down, you might hurt yourself."
Oh yea that's much better... not.
Don't forget to join The "This Moment See Beautiful" blog hop on Friday. For everyone who joins in the hop SUGAR will donate $1 (up to $100) to the Pet Area that will be build at St. Anne's Homeless Center.
Blessings,
Goose
Oh that poor little sweet baby! He is beautiful. I hope that maybe, just maybe the owners were out looking for him and hence the reason for not answering their phone. But if he is way too skinny and hurt, then maybe it's best he finds a different home. We will pray that all works out in the end. I know that you and your Mom will keep an eye out for him.
ReplyDeleteWe submitted a picture for See Beautiful today.
Hugs,
Lily Belle & Muffin
aww I hope some nice person gets him. If not you should tell your mom to take him homes!
ReplyDeleteMason

Holy moly that's a lot of cards! I tell you my heart just ached for that Boyd. He sure did take to your Momma. I'm sure he sensed her love and kindness. He sure was skinny, poor thing. I hope he is okay.
ReplyDeleteAw, man...poor Boyd! :-( But, if his human parents aren't doing a good job, then it's probably better if he finds a new home!! Your Mom is seriously a puppy guru though!! ;-) Whoa, dude that's a ton of cards!!
ReplyDeleteSo sad about Boyd. You have a card extravaganza going on
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Just a quik note from the mom for now - the ears on Boyd are definitely NOT Beagle but the rest of that sweet face and especially the nose looks a lot like Beagle. If you (Goose's mom) do get to visit him, do you think you could get a side view - maybe some info such as estimate of size - does he have any white on his tail? My curiosity is aimed at maybe getting him to a Beagle rescue - yes, his whine is heartbreaking - I wish I could bring him here but I know there are great Beagle rescues in the northwest - if no owner is found or otherwise not adopted. And I agree - Boyd may NEED a new home comsidering the shape he is in. The Beaglebratz will be around in the morning.\

We ask the Universe to give Boyd a loving caring home for the holidays. He seems so sweet and his condition indicates that maybe he has been abandoned...no pup should be without someone to love him (or her). Thanks for following up on him.
ReplyDeleteWe are going to ask Santy Paws to get Boyd a wonderful owner and home. Poor boy.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see my card arrived to you Goose!
Tail Wuggles, Rubie xxx

Poor Boyd ...even though he maybe has some parents....it doesn't look like they care for him....so we hope he gets a nice new home
ReplyDeleteIs Boyd going to be okay? This is a kind animal shelter, right? I am teared up. I have trouble understanding how any puppy is not smothered in the arms of love and kindness. Boyd deserves this love every second. He is in my prayers.
ReplyDeletethis story makes me cry for boyd and for all the dogs that are not loved by their owners.
ReplyDeleteWe think Boyd is really Scared, hope it all works out for him.

ReplyDeleteThat makes me SO sad....poor Boyd....I hope he will find a MUCH better loving forever home with family that will take really good care of him....
ReplyDeleteAwwwwww Poor Boyd. I am not really SURE that I WANT his peeps to call. He may be better of somewhere ELSE.
ReplyDeleteOh Goose.. YOUR card count is HOOOOOOGE...
I really like your cheetos he is swell,..and your card wall is huge! Isn't it great to wait for new cards everyday! Thankyou so very much for the little surprize inside my christmas card. Momma put it on my vest so I wear it everytime I go outside...it was a Beautiful surprize. Now, I sure hope Boyd finds the home he needs..Christmas just holds that type of promise and magic doesn't it!
ReplyDeleteStella Rose
Aww, I hope Boyd finds a new furever home in time for Christmas! I know Santa has a soft spot for all the pups and kits in shelters.
ReplyDeleteWe Beaglebratz agin - we just read your comment on our post - PLEEZE thank your mom fur all she iz duin'fur Boyd. Everything she haz planned fur him soundz really good - Boyd wood haf a better chance of bein'dopted that way than frum a shelter. If u need any assistance if he needz tue go tue a rescue - let our mom know cuz she haz sum cyber friendz in Washington state - one of them werkz closely with a Beagle rescue (if he iz part Beagle - mom gitz ahead of herself sumtimez)
ReplyDeleteShiloh'n The Diva Shasta
I'm sorry for Boyd... hope all will come out all right... I think Cheeto is a good card counter...hope Cheeto isn't a "Cheeter"
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Boyd is absolutely precious! It might be a blessing that Boyd's owners didn't respond to the 6 phone calls, right? Poor thing! He needs a caring owner and perhaps your blog post reaches someone who wants a dog for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words about Daisy and for your small donation for her hip surgery!
Oh, poor Boyd. If he is skinny, then his so-called caretakers are not doing their job. Unless he somehow got separated from them. But, if that was true, they would have returned calls by now. Maybe they left Boyd at the shelter on purpose. I'm sure he was relieved to meet you and we know you will help him find his way to a loving home. He sure seems like a sweet fellow.
ReplyDeleteGoose, love your Cheeto hat.
I hope Santa Paws brings a new forever family for Boyd this year.
ReplyDeleteNubbin wiggles,
Oskar
Oh no! Poor Boyd! He looks like a really great guy! He captured our mom's heart right away. We sure hope something wonderful happens for him.
ReplyDeleteCheeto seems better at scaling the wall-o-cards than Sneaky Snake.
Play bows,
Zim

Oh Boyd. Such a sad little guy. I'm so glads your Mom was there to sit and love on him. I will be thinkin' of him, and hope that maybe there is a good explanation....if not, I hopes he finds a wonderful furever home somewheres else. Keepin my paws crossed.
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Ruby
Oh my goodness poor little Boyd. You will need another wall soon for all those cards!
ReplyDeleteWe are pleased to hear that Boyd is off the streets for the holidays. He is a very handsome dude. Santa should fill his owners stocking full of coal and find Boyd a new and loving home.
ReplyDeleteI pray Boyd has a home by Christmas.
ReplyDeleteSweet William The Scot
Hi Goose, I know you already know this, but your Mom rocks!!!!! That poor pup, at least your mom was able to love up on him. Hope he gets a good home.
