Beaver Sticks

She did it again.  Went to the cool mountains without me.  Miss Vickie went too, without Bert.  Has my MOM lost her mind?  What if she needs me?  What if a bear jumps out from behind a tree, who will be there to protect her?  What if she gets lost, who will help guide her home?  What if she has a good time without me?  Then when she got home, after it was dark, ( I was so worried.  Bert kept telling me it would be OK and not to worry unless the sun comes up and she is not back.) she showed me pictures of  what she did.  There were A LOT of pictures.  Let me just show you a few.

The torture, she took pictures of sticks I would like.  REALLY?

Yes that one would be nice too.

I like this one alot, but it would be better if I saw for myself.

MOM says this is how sticks are made, by pregnant trees.

I couldn't look at any more photos of trees, ponds, wildlife, and especially sticks.  But MOM said she saved the best for last.  Take a look at these sticks.

Droooool.  Oh that pile of sticks looks so good!

Why is MOM carrying those sticks?   I should be carrying sticks.

Oh now she is taking them for  a ride?!

I am not sure what "saving the best part for last" means, but I do not like it.  First she goes to a great place without me, then she takes pictures of sticks, then she is gathering sticks, then she gives the sticks a ride.  Best for who MOM?  Not me.

While I sat on my bed sulking MOM went out to the Blazer and then called me to the patio.  She had to call me twice.  And what did my eyes see?

Glorious STICKS!  She brought them home for me.  She felt so bad for not having me with her, she had to bring me a present.  OK, it's still not as good as gathering the sticks myself with her,  BUT still it's pretty great.

These sticks came from a Beaver area.  Yep a Beaver cut them down and removed the bark and, I would guess,  was going to use them in building up a dam.

I do feel kind of bad that the Beaver lost some of his/her lumber but MOM said she left the Beaver a Home Depo gift card so they could get some supplies.

Woo Hoo Beaver sticks.

I think I will give the "smaller" one to my friends Murphy and Stanley.  They are going to love it.  The next few days I will have MOM show you more pictures of the beautiful place she went to and the wonderful things she saw.  She even has pictures of a Moose (up close and personal).  Can't wait until me and Bert get go with our MOM's.  Then it will be perfect.
Gotta go and chew my Beaver sticks.

Blessings,
Goose

What kind of justice is that? And what about the pregnant tree....who on earth but your mom would look at a tree and say it was pregnant.
Seriously, I am bemused, muddled, stupefied, confounded, unsettled. (Guess who got a Thesaurus)
    See ya tomorrow night

  21. Wow, those are some GREAT sticks!! I think they are so big that there's no way me and Stanley could carry them even if we worked together (and we usually do when the sticks are really big). I'm glad your mom was still looking for sticks even though you weren't with her. But she needs to remember that without you there to protect her a bear, or even a dinosaur could put her in a very dangerous situation!

    Your friends,

    Murphy & Stanley

  22. Goose ~ Puddles thinks she lives with a Krazy Lady, well I never heard of anybody giving sticks a ride home. She should have left them there with the mother tree. Stealing her babies oh gosh this worries me.

  24. Hi Goose, I knew your mom would bring you a very special treat for leaving you at home. Hopefully the next time she goes with Ms.Vicki she'll take you along, Bert too. I can't wait to find out what the man name the moose. I just wish my mom would take me with her all the time; she left me home this morning with dad but it just isn't the same. Dad tried really hard to play with me and cuddle but I kept whining for my mom. Finally she got home; I heard her saying it's because I'm still a baby and so new here-I don't know though, I think I'll always cry when she leaves me. Sometimes she leave me a Kong with peanut butter or a Greenie thing but I still miss her.

  25. You have an awesome MOM, Goose! Those sticks are hilarious and seeing you chewing on them would make the beavers proud. I'm sure. Knowing they went to such a great home to get so much love is a good place for them to go. Lilly and Buddy have a surprise picture for you. We're sending it to your MOM now. Stay tuned!

    Happy seeing (and chewing) beautiful!

  29. Your MOM never should go out without you ... but given that she did, it was MIGHTY nice of her to bring you those super-cool sticks! I'm not sure if I should show Zim the picture of the pregnant tree. Sure, he's 12, but he's my kid brother and I'm just not sure he's ready to learn where sticks really come from. I'm going to have to think on that one. I might need a snack first, too.
Your MOM was also very nice to leave a gift card for the Beavers. She's really mighty nice -- except for that whole "going somewhere without you" thing. Woo.
    Luv,
    Dave
