Monkying Around

Hello Friends

Yesterday MOM picked me up from Bert's on her way home from St. Anne's Homeless Shelter.  I was happy happy to see her.  This week I have not spent as much time as I think I should have with her.  I couldn't wait for us to get home and spend some time together.  You know, belly rubs, hugs, walking in the grass, ear scratches, just hanging out together, just me and her.  Imagine my surprise when we got home and this guy was hanging out in my yard.

WHAT?  There's a monkey hanging in my tree.

"Hey Mr. Monkey."
"I'm a gorilla."

"You smell like a monkey to me."

This crazy monkey...err... gorilla kept swinging from tree to tree.
He's a handsome guy with his bow tie and he is holding a rose and sometimes he just starts singing "Wild thing, you make my heart sing."

He started to sing and I started to dance.

"Hey singing gorilla ya want to join me on my patio for a cool drink?  You must be way thirsty after hanging out in my trees all day."

"Hey MOM do we have any bananas?"

While MOM checked on the bananas another monkey joined us.

Then this one showed up.  At least he brought his own banana.

Oh my goodness!  Cheeto is here too.  There is a whole lot of money business going on around my house.  Beginning with, "Why is there a gorilla hanging in my tree?"

I was thinking.  If this gorilla is going to stay at my house I better find a name for him.  But what to call him?  Hummmmm.  Tell you what, leave me a comment as to what you think I should name this singing gorilla by Sunday evening 10 pm (mountain standard time) and I will put all the suggestions in a high tech name holding device and then we will pull one out and that will be the gorilla's name.  AND whoever's name we pull out will get a fabulous prize!!
Blessings,
Goose

  13. 'Morning Goose,
That's some adventure going on at your place. Imagine our surprise too seeing that gorilla in your tree. Good thing he was friendly and that you became instant furends. He really is handsome! (Of course, not as handsome as you.)

We love that he brought his furends over too so they could meet you and your Mom. Cheeto looks so excited to meet some of his own kind.

We love the name Magilla. You know from the ol'e TV show. He was such a loving and furendly gorilla. So that's the name we're going with.

We hope that you didn't drink too much of that nice cold beverage, bcuz we could only imagine all the monkey business that would have been going on.

    Hugs,
    Lily Belle & Muffin

hhmmm dare I say Goose-ji that as monkeys have tails you're technically the only monkey present in that bunch of apes??!! Nudge nudge, wink wink. Cheeky aunty.

Now as to names, I agree with Houndstooth that this fella is after a bit of smooching - swinging through trees with roses makes him closer to that Italian roustabout, so I'd be calling him Casarilla.

(In the very unlikely event that name wins - could the pressie go to Puddles? Her mum is still recovering from HELLObone surgery)

    Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

Goose, that first pic of you sitting at the table with the mo-gorilla made my mom lose her diet Coke. Ha roowooroo!!!! You are SO handsome! I just can't believe you're there so calm and all with that monkeying around going on!
What would I name him? Hmm. Well... do you or your MOM remember the Warren Zevon song (my mom is old; we listen to old things) "Gorilla, You're a Desperado"? How about Desperado?
    http://www.actionext.com/names_w/warren_zevon_lyrics/gorilla_youre_a_desperado.html
    Zimmie helped me with that.
Did I mention how handsome you look with your monkey friends!?!?
    Camo!

  42. That's HYSTERICAL! Oh, the names. You're always the best with the names. This one's going to take some serious brainstorming. What does sneaky snake think of him? Maybe he needs some double name too? Something like: Gassy Gorilla or General GOrilla and you just call him the General or Galactic Gorilla and you call him Gala? Oh, this is TOO FUN!

  43. Nice post. I learn something more challenging on different blogs everyday. It will always be stimulating to read content from other writers and practice a little something from their store. I’d prefer to use some with the content on my blog whether you don’t mind. Natually I’ll give you a link on your web blog. Thanks for sharing.
