Waiting

Hello Friends.

Does your peeps make you wait?  Wait for breakfast or dinner, wait to go out, wait for treats.  Well mine does.  Well to be fair MOM usually does not make me wait for my meals or for me to go out.  But she does make me wait for treats.  She says it builds patience.  And she says that good things come to those who wait.  Then she actually videos the whole thing.  She placed the treat on the floor in front of me and told me to wait.  Take a look.

I had to stop the video there.  I ended up waiting two more songs before MOM said those magic words, "OK".  Today's mischief belong all to my MOM.
Once when I was at church with my MOM in her office she tossed a treat on the floor and told me "hold it".  So I did, I sat there and waited.  Then someone asked my MOM if she could go in the sanctuary for a moment so she did.  Over 20 minutes when she came back there I was still waiting sitting in a puddle of my own drool.  She felt so bad that she forgot I was waiting that she gave me extra treats and I DID NOT have to wait.
Blessings,
Goose

  2. You are a very Very VERY good pup, Goose! My mom makes me wait for many things too, but if she left me with a treat all alone for 20 minutes that treat would be only a memory by the time she came back.

Goose you are a very good and patient waiter...wowzer!! that is one of things I can do is wait, and the other thing is ballet twirl...i know they are really related but it works for treats...maggie is learning to sit and can almost make it till mom counts to 10 in her head, sometimes its just five...she is struggling with wait, but i know she is super smart and will get it one day soon!! after all she has me as her teacher. Thank you for your smart words the other day on my grumpy complainy post about mags.

  23. Hi Goose, Wow what discipline you have; I bet if you put a piece of your mom's favorite candy or dessert in front of her, she couldn't wait 20 min. Well, at least I couldn't!!!
Hope you have a wonderful afternoon.

  24. Amazing waiting there,Goose. You earned a whole box of treats in our opinion. We do have to "wait" for the release to eat our breakfasts and dinners because Mom says it makes for less stealing of each other's foods. Phantom has to eat in a different room and doesn't have to wait because Mom never knows for sure when and if he will eat.

We also have to wait for treats and wait to go out the door. All practice she says for that one time when we really need to wait in an emergency.

    Have a good week.

  25. You are excellent at waiting. I have been working on this too, although I don't do it as long as you. What a good boy you were to leave that treat alone even when MOM left the room.

  28. Oh my. Goose, you have such self-control. Do dogs have fruits of the Spirit? Because I think that you do. But if that was a Jampacked Jawzer? Or a Jones Bully stick? There is no WAY you'd be so patient, my friend. I'd love to send you a couple of choice Jones treats to see how long you hold out.

  35. Sweet, Goose. You are showing beautiful patience. I bet MOM loves to look into your eyes while you're waiting so patiently. That was a funny mischief story! It goes to show how deeply your patience runs when it comes to listening and being beautiful. :)

  36. I don't think we Siberian types are capable of that. At least not the ones who trained at the Stormy Zoluschka Kryschtal School of Siberian Studies. No sir!
    You're one amazing guy, Goose.

PS: We DO have to sit before we get a treat. Or dinner. Or to get our leashes hooked up.
