It Has Begun

Hello Friends.

That's right my friends, it has begun.  The Christmas and Holiday cards are rolling in.  And once again MOM and I are in a friendly competition to see who receives the most.  Thus far I have received 13 cards in the mail and 6 email cards.  I don't think my MOM received even 10 cards last year.  So far this year she has received 1 card, and that was from an insurance company.  I don't think that should count.  MOM disagrees.  Butt hey, it was not even from our insurance company.

As you can see from that first photo I had my MOM go deep down into the basement to get the card holder she made me a couple of years ago.  If you have followed me for a while now you know until two years ago my MOM did not decorate for Christmas, except for a stocking for me.  But that all changed because so many of you "encouraged" her to do so.  And without any "encouragement" at all this year, she set up our tree (all 1 1/2 feet of it), put lights on it and those old old Christmas ornaments that her Grandpa made for her Grannymom.  She hung up my stocking and one for her AND she put a soft soft Christmas doggie blankie around my dog bed in the living room.  Soon I expect her to be humming Christmas carols when we go for our walks.  Hehehhe
Blessings,
Goose

That is already quite the haul Goose! I am suspecting though, that when these items are being sent to you, they are really including your mom too - indeed I am almost certain of it! Hugs and wags, YAM-auntyxxx

  13. Yay! Now, Goose, this is a chance for you to be nice to your pathetic human. You could even move one of your cards to her card collection. Now that would be the Christmas spirit! (PS I count insurance company cards too - and the one from the trash collector)!

  16. Hi Y'all!

Our house and, yes, even our car is filled with Christmas Carols this time of year.

Decorating is another story. Sometimes we do, sometimes we don't, much. My Human puts some simple Christmas stuff around in both houses. Problem is that we split our time, usually, between both places. Seems like we hardly finish decoratin' than it's time to leave. Then when we get back, it's time to take it all down again. :( Sigh...

I think Christmas isn't about decoration, it's about what's in the heart. Your Mom has the best heart ever.

Y'all stay warm and come on by,

  17. We haven't even bothered to try to lure Mom and Dad into a Christmas card competition - at last count we've got something like 11 cards and Mom and Dad have zero. So we'll just letting them pretend that the cards are for them, too.... And we like our little 2' tree - Mom likes the lights and we like that it takes very little time for her to put up/take down!

  20. Some of the most beautiful music written is Christmas carols and seasonal works for the devoted. A full heart filled with joy and wishes of peace are so important...glad your mom is sharing hers (and yours).

  21. You look so festive! Our mom hasn't put much Christmas decor out this year. I have no idea why not. Why is she looking at me funny? And what does "avoiding temptation" mean?
    Yours sincerely,
