Scoop That Poop

Hello Friends.

I am joining with the beautiful SUGAR in this Scoop the Poop blog hop.  Do you know how I feel about those who do not scoop their dogs poops?

To them I say "PHFFFFTTTTT!"

I mean come on people it's not that hard to Scoop That Poop.  It is a frustrating thing to go on a walk or a hike and to see poop just laying there.  Or worse yet step in it.  Case in point.  When MOM and I went to the Pond for a little hike what is the first thing we see... POOP.  And this poop was right on the walking path that goes around the pond.  RIGHT ON THE PATH!!  What did we do?  Well my MOM scooped it up of course.

Then we headed off into the woods and along the river.  It was so beautiful.  Even when we are in the woods at the Pond my MOM always picks of my poop.  When we emerged to walk along the path again what did we see?

THIS!  This is just a foot off the path.  I pointed it out to my MOM right away.  What did she do?  She scooped that poop.  This time it was not so easy.  It must have been there overnight because it was FROZEN to the ground.  She just about needed a chisel to scoop it up.  Here is the kicker.  As my MOM was chiseling the poop off the snow a person walked by with a little dog and about 50 or 60 feet after they past us the little dog pooped, half on the path and half off.  Did they scoop?  NO!

What did we do?  Yep, you guessed it.  MOM scooped that one up too.  That's me up there inspecting the scoop and bag job my MOM did.  I tell ya what friends, my MOM is one fine poop scooper.

Good thing we carry plenty of poop bags on my leash.  Speaking of which I want to give a BIG thank you to Sugar for sending me my prize for last months poop poetry contest.  I won!  And for my beautiful poop poetry I received a Earth Rated Poop Bag dispenser with bags and some cool drool poop tattoos.  One of the cool features of this poop bag disperser is it has a clip on it that after you bag the poop and tie it off it will clip right to the dispenser, freeing up MOM's hands.

And this is what we do after we finish our hike or walk.  If there is a trash can available we toss these earth friendly bags right in the trash can.  Otherwise we toss it in our trash at home or on the compost pile.

I implore you my friends.  Please Scoop That Poop.  It makes for a much more beautiful world.  A world that would be open to more places where we can walk with our peeps.
Blessings,
Goose

  8. A very important topic. Around here, not only do I see unscooped poop, but some people bag it and then leave the bags on the sidewalk. Of course if your idea is that the poop will dissolve, that will take much longer in a bag. I applaud you for picking up other dog's poo. That's a line I have yet to cross. For some reason, my own dog's poop doesn't bother me, but other dogs' poop does.

  10. Last week they put a camera up in our dog park at the campground to catch those that don't scoop. Isn't it sad that they have to do that?

I can't pick up other dog's poop. I know that seems strange, but it makes me gag for some reason. I'm serious. Cold poop makes me want to loose my lunch.

  11. I agree brother, to remove frozen poop is hard work. That "poopsicles" are hard to storage in a bag. I wish all peeps&pets would remove their recycled food, our surrounding world would look much better.

  12. Can't believe the people walked past you scooping and left their dog's on the path. You are right, it is not hard. :)

Applause...... when dear old Jade was with me, we would be seen doing the rounds of not just hers, but others too...mainly 'coz I didn't want her getting blamed!! there are serious fines in OZ for such antisocial leavings. As a result, it is pretty much adhered to. Here in UK, I am noticing more poop than I am used to and have a footful or two that could have been avoided had folk done the right thing.

Positive message, Goose, thanks. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  17. Morning Goose, Great post and high fives to your mom for being such a thoughtful person and scooping others poop! It upsets me too, especially if it is in my front yard. Seriously it is not hard to stop and pick it up. Great job to both of you. BTW, how are you and mom doing? Feeling good? Enjoy the sunshine.

  22. I hear ya, Goose! Our mom is a super poop scooper! This weekend, when she went to the lake with her friend, though, guess what she did with a pile of poop instead of scooping it? Yep. Stepped. Right. In it. She said scooping is much-preferred.

  23. We can't believe those people didn't scoop their poop! Your mom is very good to take care of it for everyone. Our mom would have yelled at those people for leaving the poop behind.

  24. Well that sure is frustrating! Tell your mom good job for scooping poop that she wasn't responsible for in the first place!

  25. Dear Goose Our Mommy is like your Mommy, she has a passion for scooping poop. Even when we is out camping, she scoops the hairy slobbery sisters poop! When we lived in the city, Mommy used to pick up other dogs poops too!
    Have a Poopy Day!

  26. Speaking of poop, did you see the cool study showing that male dogs almost always orient themselves on the north-south axis to poop? We've been testing it in R, and it appears to be true 99% of the time :)

    Good job scooping, you two!

  27. One thing is for sure, between your human, mine and Sophie and Annies we got more poop bags than the local pet store. Its weird having My Vickie clean up after me, but I love her for it.

  32. We have some of those biodegradable poop bags! They are great. Mama spent a good deal of time out in the yard yesterday kicking at my frozen poop piles to free them up from the frozen snow/ice. She did a great job and filled too of those bags...whooo hoo!

  34. Hi Y'all!

We mostly hike on private property. We sometimes we see scat; it obviously belongs to wolves, foxes, coyotes, maybe a panther, and a couple of times we spotted bear poop. YUK!

    Y'all come by now,
