MOM's Mischief

Hello Friends.

I know I have been MIA for a little while.  Butt it is not my fault.  It's my MOM's.  That's right the MOM has caused a lot of mischief.  Let me show you what I mean.

This is where my MOM went, Camp Pinecliff.

It's a beautiful place and I have been there several time.  13 different rustic cabins that sleep anywhere from two to twelve.  Now I could have gone with my MOM, BUTT there is a new strict rule that dogs must be on a leash at ALL times.  WHAT?!  It has always been a rule, even back when my MOM served on the board of directors for the camp, but it was a pretty lose rule.  Butt this year MOM decided for my sake (and hers) it would be best if I stayed with Bert.  Pffft to that is what I say.  And as it turned out there was a dog there, Lady, and she never once was on a leash.  MOM almost drove all the way back home to get me, butt she didn't.
So as a part of MOM's mischief of leaving me I am going to show you some of Camp Pinecliff, which I was NOT a part of this year.

MOM walked along the Caulk Creek which runs on both sides of the camp.  Yea I have walked in that water, but not this time.

MOM hiked through the woods and she meditated and prepared for the message she would give on Sunday.  It was a little tougher for her, I just know it.  I mean without me for guidance it had to be.

If I was there I could have protected her against this shifty eyed critter.

Oh I did keep myself busy at Bert's.  Here I am showing the other pups how to hold down the recliner.   They are practicing on the doggie beds.

Meanwhile back at camp my favorite little peep, "L" played some baseball.  I could have helped here too, as I am excellent at shagging balls.

Bigger peeps played Frisbee Golf.  That looks like fun.

AND they played horseshoes in the new horseshoe pits that they built earlier in the day.  I bet me and little "L" would have made a great team at this.

There are tons and tons of hummingbirds at the camp too.  And if you stand still and hold your finger up to the feeders they will land on your finger and get a drink.  I bet they would of liked to land on my tail and chow down.

There were beautiful sunsets through the trees.

And a campfire at night.

MOM always gets up to watch the sun rise.  Yea, we normally do this together every morning.

Mean while back at Bert's I am holding down the dog bed while Abby watches out the window for me in case my MOM came back.

This is some of the beautiful area that surrounds the camp that my MOM hiked through, WITHOUT me.

This is a BIG cliff that over looks Camp Pinecliff.  If you look real hard at the top of the cliff is a cross.  Can you see it?

Here's a closer view.  I have hiked several times up there with my MOM.  It is a great hike and so beautiful along the way and the view at the top, WOW.  On a funny note: once a few years ago my MOM had to carry two gallons of paint all the way up there to re-paint the cross.  OK MOM may not have laughed on the way up there carrying the paint, but I get a chuckle out of it.  Especially now that I did not get to make this hike with her this year.

While my MOM did have a wonderful time, she did miss me lots and lots.  And she thought about me often.
And I thought of her too.
In fact this is how I spent most of the time while we were a part, thinking about her.
Blessings,
Goose

HAH! Goose old boy, rub it in why don't ya?! No doubts, it would have been heaps more fun to have been with Mom, but if these piccies are anything to go by, you were staying in five star accommodations yourself!!! I am sure there will be compensations too - like an endless hug and maybe a double length throw of the ball in that paddock you call a back yard? Have a great week together.

  5. I'm so glad you have your mom back and she has back her bestest Goose.
I saw you both had a nice time (even if beer isn't allowed at Bert's).
Oh and please ignore that running girl - it's just my mom she saw the snake and turned into the roadrunner.

  16. Sweet Goose, I know she thought of you so often. I know that while she was taking those pictures she was imagining how much fun you'd be having and she knew you were dreaming about her. You do look like a comfy couch potato and that brings about even more beautiful dreams. You are well loved, Goose. Well loved.

  17. OMD, she abandoned you!?!?! How cruel! I hope you gave her the silent treatment for a while when she came back -- after you finished kissing her, of course.

  18. Hi Goose, I loved hearing what you and Mom have been up too. What a beautiful camping spot; so glad your mom was able to go(even without you-I know it was a sacrifice you both made). The weather looked perfect. I know that you rallied at Bert's-encouraging your buds and Miss Vickie. Your mom would have loved Alaska; I hope she gets up there someday!

  26. Shame on your mom for going someplace without you. You COULD have gone if you had promised to stay on a leash though. I always have to be on a leash so that wouldn't have been a problem for me. But Mommy won't go places I'm not allowed anymore.

  27. Bet mom was thinking about you every day too. What a beautiful place. Love all the doggies in their beds, hilarious

  31. Goosie, I must tell you - I missed you TONS! I was so relieved to get a comment from you after your MOM got back. I was WORRIED!
OK. After reading your post and thinking deep thoughts, Zim and I came to the conclusion that your MOM most likely had absolutely NO fun at all up there in that beautiful place without you. I'm sure the sunsets and sunrises didn't have the same meaning to her and the colors weren't as ... colorful. Games probably were no fun, balls probably didn't bounce, and without your guidance, I'll bet her Sunday message was just blah. Well, no. Actually, I"ll bet that was still really good, because Zim said God probably helped her and His help is mighty good. Where was I? Oh. That Frisbee golf thing? There's a Japanese family across the street from us and the guy plays that all the time. He has his own bucket-y thing to throw Frisbees at. I used to roo-roo-roo at him but I don't now.
Anyway... I MISSED YOU, GOOSE! Welcome back. And welcome home to your MOM. You two should spend extra time eating berries and watching the sunrise together to celebrate!
    Camo!

  32. We know you missed her like crazy! Me and Stanley went to Pinecliff last year and we had to stay on leash. So it was probably better you stayed with Bert.
