Allergy Mischief

Hello Friends.

Let's get right to it shall we?  Yesterday I told you that my MOM had developed an allergy and I gave you some clues as to what she seems to be allergic to.  Here was one of your clues:

So what is my MOM allergic to?  Lets take a closer look.

No, it's not my paw and it's not me.  It's grass.  Lovely green, soft, beautiful mischievous grass.  That's what's making her so miserable.

I don't get it.  I stick my snooter in grass all the time and I am fine.  Well, other than it tickles my nose sometimes.

"MOM what are we going to do?  Just look at this beautiful grass.  Will we get rid of all our grass?  Will we?  That would be very sad.  I love our grass."

"And I love running in grasses on our adventures."

"I love to race up grassy hills and stand in the grass and take in all the beauty."

"Oh and all that wonderful grass that grows along the river and around and under sticks.  I sure am going to miss going out in the grass.  But if it means you would feel better, then I would gladly give it up."
"Goosie we will not be digging up our lawn and we certainly will NOT give up our adventures in God's glorious creation together."
"But..."
"But nothing.  It's all good.  We will find the right solution and medicines and life will go on uninterrupted, with lots and lots of green grass and adventures."
"Really?"
"Really, Really.  Now lets go outside and roll in the grass."
"Wooo Wooo Hooo!  But first I have one thing to do."

Hey Friends isn't that great.  I get to keep my grass and adventures.  I am so so happy.
Now if ya come back tomorrow you will find out why I am wearing this funny hat.
Blessings,
Goose

  1. We know why you are wearing that hat but will not spoil it for everyone else. Tell your mom that my mom got a few allergies when she got older but then they got better.

  2. OH Goose, you just keep leading us on. Like, we just fine out your human is allergic to grass and the next thing you do is put something on your head and ask us to guess what it is about.

Oh my mind is spinning. It is too late to think about it so I'll wait until tomorrow. Thanks again for taking care of stuff while I was gone today.

    Love

  3. Oh Goose we are so happy that your mom isn't allergic to you. Being allergic to grass isn't so good, but being allergic to you would be the worst. That sure is a funny hat. We can't wait to find out what that is all about.

Phew - annoying but easily manageable in the end.... should I mention the possibility of bee allergy... (No YAM that would be pessimistic and unkind). I just hope mom is going to rug up in all the coveralls and a hat like yours Goose!! (Only reason I said that is coz have had to treat three of my colleagues here for stings this week itself... and one went into anaphylaxis, so for Heaven's sake, please take care.)

    Here's to a sneeze-free week! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty

  13. Mom was talking to a lovely senior gentleman the other day and he told her to buy honey that is harvested locally. It seems that bees that collect nectar from local plant flowers including grasses put antallergins into their honey which helps peeps with their allergies. Mom doesn't have allergies but dad does and he has been having toast with honey on and honey lemon drinks...he says it is helping! It has to be honey collected locally though.

  14. Looks like you are gonna go do something with bees! Well, we wish your Momma luck with the grass allergy. We have had the sniffles around here too lately. Hopefully it will die down soon. Have a great Monday Goose.

  16. We just knew your Mom wouldn't give us grass (Oh, that just sounds SO wrong!)

We will keep our paws (and fingers) crossed that she can find the right combo of med's to keep the sneezles and wheezles at bay. (My Mommy now lives on Claritan since she doesn't get allergy shots anymore.)

We're looking forward to your next adventure Goose. With that silly hat we know it's gonna be a good one :)

  18. Allergies are so frustrating. Mama is allergic to dust. If she cleans it she gets sinus problems if she doesn't clean it she has sinus problems. Very confusing.

  19. Oh no, Goose! I know how much you all love to be outside and I know you spend a lot of time in the grass while cutting it. What has the doctor ordered? Allegra? That seems to help with our family and the pollen down here. Give your mom a snuggle for us and hope the drs. get the meds figured out in a jiffy!

  20. Pheeew it's the grass. Fortunately not you. I asked or mayor yesterday for an entry permit for you and I planned to evacuate my staff from the bedroom to make room for you. I hope you mom will find the right medecine and maybe her allergy is temorary and only for special grass.
Are you a beekeeper tomorrow? Or is it a bag for the grass.... can't wait to hear about... but if you ask me it looks very stylish :o)

  21. OMD, I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't play in grass! I hope your momma finds the right medicine soon. That's a pretty pawesome hat, by the way. Are you taking up beekeeping?

  22. Hi Goose, I have had severe allergies over the years and even got shots for almost 18 yrs. Grass was one thing that bothered me too. Now I don't get the shots or take prescription medicine-just otc allergy pills. I so remember how awful I felt when my allergies acted up.
So glad your mom figured it out. Praying that she gets some medicine that will help.
    Hugs to you both.

Your human has such an awesome attitude. We love it!

  32. I have heard that some dogs are allergic to grass, not that would be the WORST! Our grass looks dead as it is starting to show it's self in small patches. But mama says it will green up once all the snow is gone and it dries out a little. Can't wait to get my grassy yard back...such a mess right now...we call it Break-up season.
Does that hat have a mosquito net on it?
